I attended Louisiana State University in their engineering department in Computer Science, and I can say that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this university houses the best STEM program in the state of Louisiana and arguably the best in the entire southern United States. The building dedicated to the engineering program features highly advanced technical equipment and laboratories, computer labs, and other facilities dedicated to research for professors and students alike to provide the best environment... My time at Louisiana State University honestly meant a lot more to me than I thought it would when I first got there.
LSU wasn’t just school for me. It was where I grew up a lot. I had some really high moments there, and also went through one of the hardest times of my life—but that’s kind of why it means so much. It forced me to mature, figure out who I am, and learn how to handle real pressure instead of just going through the motions.
The people and the environment are what make it. There’s just... Read More
Academically, it challenged me too. Some semesters I was locked in, others were tougher, but I learned how to stay consistent and push through even when things weren’t ideal. That’s something I’ll carry with me way past college.
Looking back, LSU gave me a lot more than just a degree. It gave me relationships, perspective, and a lot of growth as a person. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.

I am currently attending Louisiana State University pursuing my Master's in Business Management with a concentration in sports management. I anticipate graduating later this year, in December 2026. My Experience at LSU has been positive, considering the quality of academics offered. I did not initially want to go in-state, but I couldn't beat the TOPS program, which basically made college free. Only once I was at LSU, enrolled and finding my groove, did I gain a deeper appreciation for the institution, the spirit, and the teachers. Louisiana is a unique state with an uncanny history and a specific blend of cultures you don't find anywhere else. After four years at LSU, it embodied this quality in many ways, particularly in the community and identity one found here and carried... Read More

LSU Online is amazing for everyone but especially for me. I am a mom and I work full time but LSU Online allowed me to get my masters degree online and on my own time. You are never alone you always have someone to fall back on whether that's your advisor or your success team. I was able to work, travel, and finish my education without burning myself out.

Ultimately I got a degree that didnt prove impactful in my future goals, but it did offer me insight and education needed to acquire a job. I do wish I had came into college at a more standard time as I feel my education and decisions regarding my major would have shifted entirely. Dont make the same mistake I did and follow your passion, find a job that can ensure later success.

Even though I loved my school, I feel as though athletics and social life are prioritized for students over academics. Being an SEC school, they are highly known for both of those things. The buildings were outdated and often not in good condition. It was a beautiful campus, though. I think if I had a chance to do college over, I would go to a community college for the first two years, then go to LSU for my final two years.

The school has great programs and I love that they have the option to do classes either online, in person or both if you wanted to. What I love about my school is that they offer the program that I want as a fast pace environment and I can get my certification at the same time that I am getting my Master's degree.

I attended LSU online for one class in 2019. I took an accounting course and was planning to take other coursework to enable me to sit for the CPA exam in Ohio. I liked the online option since I work full time and have a family. LSUs online course framework is horribly formatted. You utilize one website for your syllabus and class information, another for reading, another for assignments, and then another one for exams. Yeah, how annoying and confusing is that? Then, you have to pay again to sit... Read More

This university has a lot of bullies. The university will not stand against these bullies. They bend their rules forbullies no matter how many times they say they won’t. The end result is that every year more bullies get enrolled and more employees get frightened by bullies. Terrible culture.

LSU is a good school if you're not wealthy and aren't looking to get into a top university. The football games are by far the best part of the institution. The people are very nice, and the food is excellent. I am glad that I went to the university. I would major in engineering if you are attending LSU. It is the best and most marketable degree at the school.

I will first start by saying if you're like me and you chose LSU, it is because you most likely grew up seeing the stadium lights, taking drives through campus and being a huge Tigers fan. Campus life is great if you love all of those things, but academic life can be difficult if you do not apply yourself. I studied Kinesiology which was not easy, but it was worth it because Kinesiology is the only degree program that offers anatomy and if you do well you can take a Cadaver lab, which I did. IT WAS... If you are a student that is interested in some type of professional school after college, Biological Sciences and Biochemistry curriculum does a great job at preparing students for their perspective entrance exams. There is a general path you could follow if you are unsure about what courses to take, and it gives suggestions for electives to take, but you have full autonomy to choose whatever elective courses you would like (as long as you get your major courses completed and other required courses).

The professors in this program are phenomenal! Plenty of opportunities for one-on-one research with the professors and they genuinely care about the students! I would suggest if you want to undergraduate research or if you want to go to a university that feels like a small college, then this would be the place for you! Remember, you get out of it what you put into it. It's easy to get lost in a crowd of 30,000 students, but if you are assertive, there are plenty of opportunities.
