How We Rank "Best" Schools

%%YEAR%% Best Online %%LEVEL_NAME%% in %%PROGRAM_NAME%% Badge

The OnlineU research team ranks community colleges in each featured state using Salary Score, our proprietary measure of how graduates' earnings compare with those of students who earned the same associate degrees elsewhere. Using U.S. Department of Education earnings data, we compare each college's associate graduates with graduates of the same degrees nationwide, providing a degree-level perspective of financial outcomes rather than relying on institution-wide earnings.

When there isn't enough data to calculate a reliable Salary Score, we rank eligible schools by online enrollment, highlighting colleges with larger, more established distance-learning communities. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.

Student Review Summary: Reviews of South College are sharply divided, though positive feedback slightly outweighs criticism because many reviewers gave high ratings and said they would recommend it. Supporters consistently praise small class sizes, approachable instructors, flexible online formats, self-paced options, and advisors or staff who provide individualized help. Several also value practical scheduling that fits full-time work and faster program completion. Critical reviews focus on high tuition, weak job placement support, poor organization, shifting policies, inconsistent faculty expectations, and administrative communication problems. Some also describe misleading admissions promises, confusing billing, limited interactivity, and grading systems they felt were punitive or set them up to fail.

I'm not too sure what to say about UMA. Everything started out great and then went sideways. I have also even caught several of the advisors in lies, but now that I'm in, I'm in. Everything when it comes to our education and the classes are satisfactory.
