Overall amazing experience. As a person who had transferred from a local school I would recommend it to anybody looking to enroll as a first year student or as a transfer student. Atmosphere is amazing, the students take pride in their school. From different social organizations to sporting events there is always something going on.

Professors put a lot of effort into teaching classes, are very thorough with lectures, learning material, and expectations are clear. Study groups are highly encouraged at Albany State and proven to be effective! Also, there are many tutoring sessions. Enrolling in classes was not difficult and the workload was easy to manage. Albany State University was a great experience for me. The faculty as well as the staff really took an interest in me as well as my education. I was exposed to a number of opportunities to participate in undergraduate research, which was a vital part of my education. A number of years later, I was able to return as a graduate student and had the same experience that I had as an undergraduate student.

Studying Social Work at The University at Albany was a fascinating experience! The classes are small so it is easy to acquire valuable connections with peers and professors. The BSW program also does a great job in assisting students with finding field placements for the senior year.

The University at Albany is a great place both academically and socially for people of any background. The diversity of the University is one of my favorite parts. On top of that the different sizes of classes allows students to learn what type of setting they are most comfortable in.

My first few years were at a larger school and I transferred over to this one. The setting was completely different and the professors really wanted to see you exceed. At my other school, the professors did not care if you showed up for class at all, and barely seemed to notice ones that were failing. However, at ASU, there is no chance of that. Attendance is a must and some professors even give you homework. You are expected to pay attention and be a part of class discussions.

My graduate program at Albany State University will allow me to continue my education without having to move to another city. Although I will not have the chance to earn my MBA at a different institution I know my institution is excellent.

When I first got to Albany State the program was still in the works. Meaning the program was still new. Pros that I experienced was that the professors were available when needed. Cons there were no companies that came to the school to recruit students in the communications program.
