I had a wonderful, comprehensive learning experience while at Alliant International University. The professors are working professionals in the field of school psychology and therefore teach through not just text but experience as well. I was afforded additional opportunity through professional association memberships to attend conferences and work shops, along with other fruitful endeavors that have highlighted my resume. I would recommend this program to all of those who seek education in the field... Read More

Pros: Excellent staff and faculty; small class sizes; community feel; emphasis on understanding and awareness of cultural diversity; nearby food court; easy to form friendships; no designation of how many A's or B's a professor can assign to a student--what you get is what you actually earn; professors are exceptionally competent in their respective classes; significant portion of professors are actively involved in their own line of work (i.e. though they are professors, they are also active in... A big pro to my graduate program is that it really emphasizes cultural diversity and training, which is very important. The professors are also very encouraging and approachable. A con would be the cost of the program. Although I would highly recommend this program, many people cannot afford to pursue higher education due to the program cost and affordability of living.

The program is great and has excellent professors and mentors. My main complaint is the disorganization of the program and requirements that must be completed. At times we are given different. conflicting information which can be frustrating.

It is a very, very practical program for those who want to work as psychologists, respected all over in clinics of Los Angeles. Cons: they do not put as much emphases on publishing / conference proposals etc.. so you have to pursue that on your own and ask for help if need be.

The program was good if you are interested in doing Forensic Clinical Work. I was in the transition period where the classes that I was suppose to take were not offered and had to piece through my degree. The experience was great with the faculty and learned a great deal.

My program is a very small program. This is a pro and a con. Pro because a student may have more access to resources as well as time with professors. It is a Con because the competitive nature with other students for the best practicum or internship just got tighter. The Clinical Forensic Program covers not only the Clinical aspect of Psychology but provides a specific skill set that separates normal clinicians from the Forensic Clinicians. We are experts on the witness stand, we can work in both... Read More

My school excels in diversity, community leadership, and above all quality professional training. The professors, class sizes, and class subject options are excellent. My program also offers not only a comprehensive education in general psychological theory and practice, but also offers specialized emphasis areas so that each student can choose and work towards their own niche in the field. I chose my school because it offers an Integrative Psychology emphasis, which is not usually found in other... Read More

Alliant International University offers an array of wonderful characteristics. The program places a large emphasis on multicultural dynamics and offers valuable abroad programs. The school also has a staff of amazing teachers who are truly dedicated to the success of the students and school. A pro that I have experienced in my year at the university is the disorganization of the administration. The administration could do a better job supporting the students.
