I knew Alvernia University was the college for me the moment I set foot on campus. It was a smaller college that was placed in the middle of a town with tons to do but in an area that felt like the middle of no where. The class sizes were small, for the most part, which made it more of a discussion atmosphere rather than a lecture. Read More student or faculty - that wasn't willing to help you one way or another. The students are also invited to get involved and help other students by joining programs like career development or tutoring. They help you with your resume as you get closer to graduation too! They offer student's jobs on campus if wanted which makes it easy and convenient for anyone studying here from out of state. The dorms are REALLY nice as well and they have so many different room/roommate options to choose from. While Alvernia University is small, they are constantly growing and developing into a better campus for their faculty and students. While I was a student they were remodeling the dorms and since then I know they remodeled the gym and athletic fields - which both look great! They really want the students to succeed athletically and academically which is a great quality to have if you want to continue your athletic career after high school. Alvernia does not disappoint!

At my University I was lucky enough to get accepted into a five year program to receive my masters in Occupational Therapy after I transferred from a community college. The past three years at Alvernia has been a great experience with tons of great learning experiences and support from professors and classmates. My graduate year will consist of completing a thesis with some of my classmates and will be picked at random with a topic given. The cons about my graduate year is there is a limited topic... I am just going to enter my graduate program in Community Counseling this fall. I have, however, completed my bachelors degree from Alvernia in 1999. I value the education that I received there. the staff was most helpful and caring. They really want you to get ahead in life. There is much that I got from Alvernia besides an education.
