ACE is a fantastic school. I went here for my M.Ed and it was challenging yet incredibly relevant and rewarding. The courses emphasize your own classroom/school/district and you end up leaving with practical skills that will help you improve your teaching immediately. I am returning to ACE to continue my studies and have recommended ACE to my co-workers and family members. I am currently one class away from receiving my degree and received an email 1 week to the start of class, stating that I would need to pay the course up front or get dropped from the program due to retaking a course?! Problem is, this stipulation was never stated and I called a few months ago to ensure that the payment plan that I have been on will cover the summer course and was told it would be taken out of my paycheck once school resumes in the Fall, and I would receive my degree when the course... Read More is paid in full. Prior to this happening, I took classes with ACE four years ago to receive my ESL endorsement and had a nice experience. After a little research, I discovered that I could receive my Masters in ESL if completed within five years of the classes I took for the endorsement (the courses from the endorsement would carry over, thus I was half done with the Masters degree). ACE seemed to be a reasonable and smart choice to obtain my Master's degree as they also work with my school district by deducting money from my paycheck bi-weekly. I would just have to ensure that I complete the courses prior to October 2018. Lo and behold if I do not take this course in July or August, the next time to take the course is October (Thus, I would have to take the course I took in October of 2013 again providing ACE with more money). After reading the other reviews, I am realizing that unethical practices may be a typical pattern of ACE. I have emailed and called ACE to work the financial situation out to no avail. I have written a complaint after discovering that my balance shows different prices in different sections, and no one has contacted me. I have every reason to believe that I am being swindled as customer service was once overly helpful and now are not providing adequate information about my balance or responding to my emails or complaints. Talking on the phone was also useless as the staff has no explanation as to why I was told I could continue on the payment plan after pulling up my information and class history. Do not waste your time or money. If you do, get everything in writing.

I have taken two classes with American College of Education thus far and enjoyed them both. The best point of this online graduate program is that it is convenient, inexpensive, and designed with educators in mind. It is tailored towards educators who are already in the field and are seeking professional development and education to further their educational effectiveness and career goals. So far the curriculum has not been unusually rigorous and there are some assignments which were not very applicable... Read More to me. But overall I have read some very interesting articles and gained new insight into my field (teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language). The courses are especially applicable to people teaching or planning to teach in the United States so many assignments have to be altered or very creatively approached to be applicable to someone teaching abroad, such as myself. However, the teachers are usually accommodating, and most classes have at least a few students who are teaching outside of the US.
