It helped improve my assessment skills (using a holistic approach), communication skills, team dynamics, charge nurse, and leadership skills. I learned how to make a significant difference within a healthcare organization using the Iowa Model. I can list so many more ways that this program can be beneficial to nurses looking to advance their education and profession but I will stop here and simply say that taking this step will only help you and you will not be sorry you did. Don’t really understand the negatives surrounding Aspen. For me the school has been wonderful. I was able to take classes and work a full time job while also supporting my son who is in college. The classes are always challenging and I learned so much. The professors were always knowledgeable and graded fairly. I was not sure how I would do with online courses but the platform used by Aspen makes it easy to follow. I also appreciate the payment plan option. I will continue on as an Aspen student!... I just completed my RN to BSN program at Aspen University. The program is laid out in a standard format in the classroom. Each assigned professor may sometimes make minor changes to the requirements. Each week has a discussion, responses, and an assignment (paper, power point, etc.) which are all completely doable even while working full time. The payment program is very straight forward and reasonable. I even got a discount because my husband is prior military. Some classes were more helpful/relevant than others in my opinion. Overall, I learned a lot from the program. Yes, it does require you to study on your own and be diligent, but I think that is the point of higher education. No, the professors do not spoon feed you information, but they are quick to respond to questions or concerns. The professors do teach multiple classes at one time so there were a few hiccups with that occasionally. Overall, I only had one or two minor issues during the entire program. I recommend this program to anyone and even got my best friend to start. She struggled with her ADN in a traditional classroom but has found this program easy to manage. She is only one class behind me and is doing really well. I feel that if you put in a standard amount of effort, you will pass the program with no issues.

BUYER BEWARE: THIS IS NOT A REGIONALLY ACCREDITED SCHOOL. If you are truly only attending a BSN program because your goal is to fulfill the BSN requirement at your job, but you have zero aspirations to further your career, then Aspen is just fine. The price is great, the time commitment is reasonable, and I actually enjoyed my classes getting a little something from most of them. (You get out of it what you put in.) There are nearly NO schools that will accept my degree as it is not from a *regionally* accredited program!! I came very close to needing to repeat my BSN entirely in order to carry on for my NP. Thankfully, I found one program that would take it, so I am currently halfway through my MSN at another school, but it is significantly subpar to the university I had hoped to attend. That school was all set to accept me- until they realized my BSN was from Aspen. Regulations wouldn't allow them to make any kind of exception. If there is any possible way you may one day like to pursue an MSN or PhD in any capacity, I would highly suggest that you steer clear of this program.

Obtaining my BSN with Aspen was a gift from God. It was a great way to work 6 days a week and still earn my degree in 16 months. From the instructors to financial aid all were easy to communicate with and responded to my email or voice mail in a timely manner. The courses requires a great deal of hard work and dedication and it was worth it. I graduated from the RN-BSN program with honors in October 2021 with a 3.97 GPA, and I am incredibly proud of this accomplishment. Honestly, the classes are time-consuming and challenging. However, if you're looking for an easy way to put a title behind your name, you may consider a different school. Some things were straightforward about the program. Navigating the courses was simple. Technical support is always available. The instructors were precise in the expectations in their posts. The key to success is reading the instructions and following them to the letter carefully. There are also videos with specific instructions on each week's modules that you must listen to if you want an A. If you read them, they also provide you with resources that you can reference in each paper. They give you all the tools you need to do well if you want to put the work in for your success.

Devoting time to my assignments and having the support of the staff at the university all made it possible. Although there was only one professor who responded to emails more than 48 hours, most did reply within 24 hours and my academic advisors would call just to find out how I am doing and whether I needed assistance. The course material provided every 8 weeks was manageable despite having to work 12 hours shift, and the monthly payment was indeed affordable. Although everyone's experience will not be the same as mine, I would recommend this University to anyone. I am looking to begin my Masters in Health Administration and Management come January 2022 with the hope that I receive the continued support and level of professionalism during my BSN program. I've had a great experience at Aspen University. The instructors were great, they provided prompt feedback, clarification as needed on assignments and genuinely cares that you succeed in the class. The advisement was awesome. He provides periodic/frequent follow up to see how I'm doing and if I had any concerns. I maintained close communication with my advisor, he has helped me with various issues such as guiding me to additional resources to help with course and anything else I may need. From beginning... Online learning is heavily driven by independent learning. For me, this structure worked out really well. Aspen was a breath of fresh air. I originally started at a local college and my employer would have paid 100% of the RN to BSN program. Once I started, I found it was not adult learner oriented. So, after some research I found Aspen. It is out of my own pocket, but it has been adult learner oriented. Having a busy work and home life, I was still able to get my Aspen work done every time.
