I agree with Lena Paul. I had much of the same experience. Benedictine dropped the 8 week courses for semester based ones and dropped the certificate program for my MBA in Healthcare Admin. Then they offered me the talent management cert, and in the last month of classes they let those of us know who were in the talent management courses that we would not be allowed to use that. I graduated in May 2022 but have yet to receive to my diploma as of 10/04/2022. I sent an email in July but registrars... Read More

The saddest part is I am 30k in debt for an online MBA ( no certification because they took it away) but they were offering a 10k MBA in person program. This to me is ridiculous because it was all online during the pandemic.

First off, I just have to say if you are thinking about attending this school to get a masters degree please save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. The management at this school is the worst it can possibly be. They are so disorganized! Do not count on ever speaking to someone on the phone. I have called the advising office numerous times without any call back and have had the same experience with the financial aid office. Apparently, they must prefer all communication over your school... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

Under new leadership this may become a better program. When you sign on to a doctoral program, be aware you need to start thinking about your dissertation immediately, and you need to find at least three terminal degree holders to be on your committee. When I attended the previous "leaders" of this program did not prepare us for these realities, perhaps because they assumed we would already know them. I recall asking the assistant director to be a member of my committee and she expressed a very annoyed... Read More

I took only 7 online classes, but I should have left after the 1st semester. This is the most disorganized school, I have ever attended. Financial Aid and Business Offices are always so difficult to get a hold of. Your student services coordinator constantly makes mistakes and has no plan for you. You take one class at a time aimlessly without having a clue what your path is at that school. Teachers are ok for the most part; but if you are an organized person, everything about this school would drive... Read More

Classes were fine, stay away from Prof. A. for Econ and youll be alright. Office of the registrar is awful with providing diploma once you graduate. They love to make you spend money on little stuff, and will never let you know if you have a hold on your account.

No terminal degree program can be successful unless the student has the ability to go it alone, especially in a school where the terminal degree professors are not committed to serving on a student's doctoral committee. While the program director was carrying the program on his back, the staff instructors (presumably all adjuncts) all offered excuses about their non-availability. The next most senior staff member, when asked to join my committee, offered an exasperated sigh and,"send me what you've... Read More

Degree: Public Health

The public health program at UW awakened my passion for the field. Throughout the program I was pushed to dig deeper and really become engrossed in the material. The subject matter was diverse which allowed you to explore various avenues of public health but looking back on it I think this made it harder for me to realize what area of public health was a good path for me. I recommend taking the opportunity to talk with your professors and advisors as they are often working on very inspiring projects... Read More

Degree: Higher Education

As a doctoral student studying the administration of higher education, Benedictine University in Lisle Illinois was my first choice. I had been working as a Faculty Coordinator and wanted to learn as much as I could about the financials, budgeting, hiring, and all of the administrative processes that were necessary to support my new role at the University. Upon my acceptance in the doctoral Program at Benedictine University I assimilated into achieving a lifelong goal. First I acquired all the materials,... Read More

Benedictine, in itself, is a good university; however, its Master of Science (MST) program is a HUGE disappointment and I would NOT recommend it to anyone, not even my worse enemy. There are other universities in Illinois with much better MST programs (NIU, Depaul, U of I) and I wish I had gone to one of those schools instead of Benedictine. It seems that this program is an afterthought for those administrators in the Goodwin College of Business. They don't advertise the program like they do for... Read More

This is a great school if you want to have small classes and have a one-on-one discussions with your professors. Right from the beginning of my experience with the school they make you feel like family as if they genuinely care about you personally and your future. Benedictine University offers flexible classes both online and on campus. You are able to contact you professors at anytime, which includes office hours, emails, and direct phone calls to them. I loved learning with the hybrid model of face to face classes and the online content. My degree increased my reading and literacy knowledge. I easily found a new position with my new skills and endorsements. Earning my degree, while working was very manageable. I was able to keep my family, work, and school lives balanced.

Great close knit school that pushes you to achieve your goals. With a focus on adult and non-traditional students this school offers flexible scheduling for classes. The support from the faculty and staff is fantastic. They truly want to see you succeed and reach your goals.

The dual MBA/MPH program is great for students who are interested in Healthcare Administration but also want flexibility to explore other aspects of management. The small class sizes give you the ability to develop a deeper relationship with teachers and the fact that the whole program is also available online is helpful for students that are working full time like me.

The program is overall a great program, they give you real world applications from a practitioner stand point as well as a scholarly viewpoint. I have had a few issues with Financial aid, but who doesn't. Our professors are knowledgeably, and know a lot about the discipline. I do wish that they would give us more feedback when it came to our papers, assignments, as well as presentations.
