Bethel University was overall the best academic experience. Professors are amazing and very willing to work with you at whatever level you're at! I made some of the best friends I will ever have there, and have grown exponentially as an individual. HOWEVER. One thing Bethel advertises is that they "love their alumni" and will "welcome them back to use their resources". Read More be going back to Bethel to use the Wellness Center, go to the Career Development and Calling Center, study in the library, etc. Additionally, it seems very apparent that the athletic students get far more benefits opposed to those that are not involved in sports there. For example, there used to be morning times available in the Wellness Center for staff, faculty and alumni. But, they have claimed the free weight equipment for only the football team and other sports to use. Although there are times to exercise in the day occasionally, all times before work or afterwork are filled with sports teams that reserve the equipment. This is an inconvenience for not only students but for alumni who attempt to come use the free gym because we paid over $40,000/year to go to school there. I still come back and visit with professors and students, but as an alumni, I have felt disrespected and devalued. If you truly value a good community and strong education, this is the place for you! The amount the professors care for you is absolutely incredible. But do not expect to feel valued after you graduate.

Bethel University's business program enjoys the expertise of over a dozen faculty members who are committed to their students success. Each professor that I had in the program took the time to get to know me, and invested in me not only as a student, but a person as well. It is not uncommon for professors to sit down with students in lounge or study areas just to chat, or catch up on how the student is doing. The program itself is very clearly laid out, with expectations and course work explained in full online, in each syllabus, and in the Business & Economics department brochures. Students have a personal academic advisor and vast opportunities to get involved outside of classroom activities. There is a business association with networking events, workshops, and social activities that occurs each semester. Recently the university opened an investments program for selected students to manage a $6 million portfolio. There is also support for certifications and opportunities to become teaching assistants for programs of interest.

Bethel University is an awesome program if you are focusing on being a full time student or if you are working full time and want to take classes part time or full time as well. Although I am working full time, I am also taking enough classes per semester to be considered a full time student as well. What is amazing about Bethel is that it allows me so much flexibility in my schedule! I am taking hybrid courses so they are part online and part in person. I take 1 class every 6 weeks and it goes year... Read More round so I will have short breaks, but I will get done with the program fast and I can focus on completing one class at a time. The teachers are super knowledgeable and friendly and I have been pleased with the feedback I have received from them. I have learned so much from my graduate school program so far and I am excited for all of my classes to come. The program is definitely spendy so if you have a way to finance it or get grants or scholarships, you should.

I was sold a bill of goods that was not delivered on. I was told that this would be a Christ centered program and it was anything but that. Quite frankly it was really high priced and the professors were not consistent. One class would be awesome the next class you would wonder where they found them. For example in an ethics class one professor play favorites with a student who he worked with someone in her family which is a blatant conflict of interest in the counseling ethics class and same professor... Read More then during the class stated "sometimes you have to do what you have to do in the business." It was a complete joke. Then in another class we were required to buy books that no one read that had diseases human sexual organs. Again we are in counseling and not physicians which makes the books not usable. I personally have told quite a few people to avoid this program and steered them towards better and cheaper schools. I felt ripped off and funny enough again they promote a "Christ Centered" education and then the practicum professor would not enforce respectful boundaries between students and then called "fundies" the root of all evil... I went to a better school and they did not have the professor turnover (a third of the MA program left within 9 months) and had a much better experience. Avoid this program.

Bethel University provides the perfect integration of academic rigor and faith. I have applied a lot of my academic education in Environmental Science to my current position with Conservation Corps. My faith was challenged in a loving way and continues to influence and mold my life even after graduation. Read More a great time to ask questions. Professors work with individuals until they understand and help students acquire skills thats they need to succeed. Advisors are diligent in reviewing courses each semester to ensure graduation within four years. Lab days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. The community and Bethel feels like a family. Homecoming is a blast and fun activities are provided by Bethel Student Association (BSA) weekly! Chapel is not required but an incredible opportunity to learn about God and experience his grace, mercy, and love. Vespers on Sunday nights is an optional a night of worship. They are a lot of clubs to join on campus. Bethel has a wonderful study abroad program and the majority of students study abroad for either a semester or over the January term. I studied abroad with Creation Care Study Program (CCSP) in Belize and attended Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies in Michigan, both experiences were two of the best decisions I have made in my life so far! CCSP, Au Sable, and the courses I completed at Bethel integrated faith and environmental care. Food is amazing and the head chef enjoys providing new food options and is very accommodating to working with digestive issues. Their is a campus garden so some of the small dishes are made with vegetables from the garden. Bethel has a shuttle that goes to Rosedale Mall and Target in Roseville. There are lots of job opportunities for students on campus. There are lots of opportunities to connect with fellow students.
