The Bowling Green Political Science Department and International Studied were nothing but top tier professional. The class size ratios were small allowing students to have personal relationships with their professors. Every professor I had in my upper level courses knew my name.
BGSU was a safe school with quality academics. I was an out of state student from 8 hours away. It was my home away from home. BGSU helped me land a successful job.

Bowling Green State University is an excellent, well-rounded university with a lot to offer for its students. It has all the amenities of a large state school, like Greek Life, a state-of-the-arts music program, and D1 sports teams, but it still has all the charm of a small school due to its slightly isolated location. Overall it's a wonderful school and has everything you'd want from a college experience.

I liked the location of my school being in a smaller town. It created a close-knit atmosphere and most things were walkable from campus. The campus itself was large but still walkable and beautiful. There was always stuff to do with organizations and in town. I felt that my classes were a little bit outdated and in technology, that is a big setback but I still felt like I learned a lot and their internship program for my degree was extensive and very helpful for applying to the real world.

Great school if you want to continue your education at an affordable price. If you live in the local area of Bowling Green and you have a good relationship with your family, I recommend staying with them to avoid having to pay for a dorm and expensive food. Otherwise, you can possibly room with a friend there on campus to save money. Also, always look at all the scholarship opportunities and keep renewing your FAFSA every year to keep getting financial aid.

My undergraduate experience at BGSU was a fundamental part of my early 20s. Having graduated in 2021 at the end of Covid my college years were a mixed basket but the University, my professors, my on-campus job supervisors, fellow students and student org members all worked to not only make the best of it but thrive otherwise.
As a student at BGSU, as per the the University's own requirements, I spent my first two year living on campus in the dorm (the dorm lottery is not for the faint of heart btw,... Read More

My time at BGSU was wonderful. As I was completing my Masters degree they provided the opportunity for me to have assistantship which helped pay for my school. During my classes I was also able to form wonderful friendships with my classmates that made attending classes so much easier.

Bowling Green State University offered an extremely high level of instruction and critical thinking. It challenged me beyond what I thought I was capable of as a student, but also offered the support I needed to succeed. Instructors in the Media/Telecommunications department and Popular Culture department were extremely intelligent, engaging, personable and approachable.

Moved here for an assistantship and my supervisor didn’t look me in the eyes and didn’t even introduce himself, he literally blurted out our new teaching schedules as quickly as he possibly could. He proceeded to insinuate that I was dressed like a slob because I wasn’t wearing a suit or tailored dress (even though he wore a polo and khakis?) I was lucky enough to retrieve my lesson plans and a syllabus from him that had mismatched page numbers and entirely empty, blank assignment files. An absolute... Read More

Overall, awful experience. I have a Master's degree already and enrolled in the graduate college for CTE education.. avoid it at ALL costs! I pad out of pocket to add a CTE certificate for our school for federal funding and the syllabi and I was given was 2 years old and no dates matched up. I was also told the course was "asynchronous" and I could turn in assignments at any time until the end of the term. I did just that and turned in everything all at once but was told assignments would be counted... Read More

Bowling Green State University has been one of the leading teaching colleges in the United States. Because of this, the courses are intense, which must be taken into consideration if one is willing to pursue an education degree at BGSU. But there is just more than course work that is required, there are the numerous state and field requirements, which can and will be overwhelming at times. If you wish to pursue an education degree from this school, you must have persistence.

BGSU offered me a great experience. I credit my time at the institution for helping me develop my interest, meet life-long friends and give back to students coming after me. I have been an undergraduate, graduate student and a full-time employee of BGSU. Throughout my experiences, I have had access to great opportunities for involvement, community, and professional development.

Every college tends to offer different experiences and every student has their own "home" at a university. I felt at home at Bowling Green State University after my first visit there. Staff was easy to work with and the university really wanted what's best for their students. They constantly were updating technology and providing many services for students. This was evidenced by various food options, a multi-step authentication process for login security, and many organizations for students to be... Read More

I found my community at this university the second I stepped on campus. I immediately became very involved with the French House as well as Vision which is now the Queer Student Union. I loved my time here and learned so much from my peers, select faculty, and extracurricular activities. Some of my core classes were unfortunately not led by professors, but by TAs and instructors which displays a lack of investment in their students. Their career services 'taught' me how to use google to job hunt,... Read More

College is great, if it's what you want to do. Don't go to college just because you feel you have to. You have to want to go, and go to class, and enjoy learning.

I very much enjoyed getting my Masters degree at BG. I was there for my bachelors as well as my masters. The professor go above and beyond to help their students. My graduate advisors have played a large role in preparing me, and to helping me get accepted into a PhD program which I will begin in August of 2017.

Although I went to the regional campus, it was simply a nice place to be. The campus was quiet, and the atmosphere was peaceful. The instructors were kind and bright, and definitely knew what they were teaching their students. The cafe was nice with plenty of options, and there were nice study spaces for quiet time to work.
