I loved the opportunities it gave me and being so close to home. Most of the professors are wonderful, it's hard work but worth it!

CSUSM is an amazing school for someone who wants the college experience but does not want the big University feeling. CSUSM has smaller classes and the teachers are able to know you by name. It has been a great opportunity to learn and grown at CSUSM and I am excited to graduate with my Masters in Social Work degree in the next year.

I really like the fact that I am able to attend part time and it also includes the concentration that I am interested in. I also like that we are in a cohort model, so I get to work with my fellow future-social workers for the next 2.5 years; it really feels like a family. The program is well rounded and emphasizes research and an evidence-based practices... Read More

I am in the MSW program here at CSUSM and even though it is a fledgling program, it is competitive, succinct, and very enriching. I would recommend it above other MSW programs because you get field experience your first year in addition to your second year. Other MSW programs only put you in your practicum your 2nd year.

Instructors are extremely helpful and always available for students. Curriculum is great and everything is tied into real life skills and possible scenerios. However, program is new and things change rapidly.

the pros are that we get a say in what goes on because it is a new program. the cons are that it is stressful because it is a new program and we all want to see it succeed.
