Degree: Speech Pathology

Little to no support for online students. Online program is just over 1 year in and they are still making changes. Unorganized from class setup, due dates, presentation of information, and beyond. They seem to be pushing students through with little thought to the overall effect. Currently in process of transitioning to another program

Degree: Speech Pathology

Currently attending Calvin’s online speech pathology program which started in January. This is the first year for this program, and it is evident. While the material in the classes is useful and challenging, the overall design and communication of the program is poor. Most of the web based software used is cheap and poorly designed- there isn’t even an course calendar to track when assignments are due. All students are given an advisor, but communication is slow (which is a trend overall) and they... Read More

Calvin College was a great experience for my college years. I am a California Native so traveling to Michigan was just the beginning of my adventure. Calvin offered me a great love for learning, life lessons and friendships. I am thankful for my time at Calvin College because it helped me become the person I am today. IF you are thinking about choosing Calvin- YES! Your answer should be yes!!!

Degree: Social Work

Calvin College was a great undergraduate experience. I always felt right at home at Calvin and I felt that, after graduation, I was more than prepared for my future career. The Calvin College Social Work department, is truly exceptional and is an advanced accredited program. I am thankful for the opportunity to attend Calvin, and I would highly recommend it to anyone searching for their College of choice.

Calvin College is a fantastic school that has the funding and opportunities of a large state school while maintaining the small private school atmosphere and class sizes. Where as many private institutions do not have the resources to provide students with opportunities, Calvin offers close relationships with professors on research projects - like a larger institution or state school, while keeping small class sizes!

I am so grateful for my education! Calvin College prepared me to go on and pursue a graduate degree. It it because of my outstanding professors that I too hope to be a professor one day. Calvin provides you with not only an amazing education, but also a supportive community. I cannot recommend Calvin College enough!

Degree: Psychology

Calvin College is a Christian school where faith is integrated into classes, but no one forces you to attend church. Most of the students are of Dutch descent, and from a Christian Reformed background. However, Calvin College has been excellent in recruiting international students, because the international population has been steadily growing annually. The academics are rigorous, but most professors are very helpful and friendly. Professional degrees, such as engineering, nursing, and education... Read More

Degree: Nursing

My Calvin experience was brilliant. The 4 years I spent there were incredible and taught me enormous amounts. Apart from learning the science and art behind the practice of nursing. I learnt about what it meant to use my skills with my calling to be a positive change in this broken world. They have start of the art classroom facilities as well as experienced professors. They are recognized for the individual attention they can provide to students in the classrooms. At Calvin I also was allowed to... Read More

Degree: Biology

I had a great time at Calvin, and learned a lot. The biochemistry program was very thorough and provided a lot of hands on experience in the lab. There are also plenty of opportunities to work with professors on projects, as long as you're willing to ask. There's also plenty to do outside of class, as different organizations are always holding some event or other. As for the religious aspect, there are plenty of opportunities to become closer to God. Chapel is held every weekday and LOFT every Sunday.... Read More

Degree: History

Calvin College is a faith based institution of higher education in Michigan where it is very cold in the winters; however, if you can survive the frigid months of unrelenting snow, this is a great place to be! The students, staff, and faculty are some of the kindest people that you will ever meet. The professors care not only about your academic performance but also your personal well-being. Although very rigorous, the history program at Calvin College teaches students the valuable skills of learning... Read More

Calvin College is a wonderful institution which has a wonderfully rich and challenging academic program. While steeped in the reformed tradition, students arrive from many backgrounds leading to great dialog. I loved my time at Calvin and would encourage anyone to attend.

Great program that offered many types of classes: on campus, online, and hybrid. Students can be enrolled in the program even if they do no live close to the college. All of my professors were great; I was assigned thoughtful work and it didn't seem like hoop-jumping.

Degree: Teaching

Calvin College provides an excellent science education program, with professors who are committed to making the experience beneficial and helpful for prospective educators. The program couples what the college offers as two high quality departments--the education department and the sciences. The program emphasizes rigor and competency of the science teacher in their content knowledge as well as the pedagogical skills to successfully teach them.

Degree: Marketing

Calvin did a fantastic job balancing practical business learning while still tackling issues regarding the Christian faith. In today's business world, it can be hard to find a balance between doing what your job requires while still maintaining your integrity and values as a Christian. Calvin provided a welcoming space to take on that challenge and allow students to shape their personal identity in the face of today's business world. I'm truly thankful for that opportunity.

The experience and the education that I received from Calvin College was superb! The classes are small, the professors are engaging, and the curriculum is relevant. The student life is rich with opportunities to meet new people, try new things, and become a part of a community.

Degree: Biology

Calvin College is a small, liberal arts college with a reputation for building community and producing excellent students. The school works hard to encourage student research and academic innovation. I found the Biology Department to be a dynamic, resourceful, curious batch of faculty and students. The school's small size and religious tradition may not appeal to all college-bound students, but it was a great fit for me.
