Degree: Sociology

Concordia University is founded on community. Everything from class to chapel to athletic events to student life is centered around building relationships and loving each other. There is so much joy on campus that it flows between students, faculty, and staff alike. The professors are top notch and give students the ability and opportunities to succeed, not only in academics, but in life as well. The main reason why I chose to come to Concordia was the bases of Christianity. Being able to live out... Read More

Concordia Texas is a great institution in which I’ve learned a lot in the classroom and about my self. I’ve learned from a variety of professors with their unique perspectives on certain topics. Concordia has really made me a better person as well as a better student.

Degree: Nursing

A heads up for the nursing students only. The nursing school in Concordia is designed to make you fail, if you fail one class, you have to retake all of the classes again and pay full tuition. If you can get into nursing school anywhere else, please do so and save yourself lots of time, headache, and money. In other nursing schools, you will only repeat the class you failed. Avoid Concordia NURSING SCHOOL at all costs.

This is an MBA Cohort which is a great way to learn to work collaboratively. The people in my cohort are incredible, this is the best part of the program. The program itself is very disorganized and not in touch with what the students really need. Many of the important courses are cut short (2 hours) in order to add a 1 hour leadership seminar. This is the first of many problems with this program. In this level of education, leadership should be incorporated into every course. There is a Organizational... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

I am a member of the first cohort of the doctoral program for Educational Leadership at Concordia University- Texas. I love the cohort approach and have already learned to rely heavily on the relationships that I am forming with my Cohort family. The course work is well designed to complete in the 3 year process and has a good balance of rigor and an understanding of the busy lives of working professionals. The hybrid approach is excellent. We have weekly assignments and discussions on-line, lots... Read More

Degree: Sports Management

This is a very good program that will help prepare you to be an athletic administrator. I like that the program took the things you needed to learn and tied them into an athletic theme. All my professors have been very helpful and the system is easy to use. I also like the fact that I didn't have to take the GRE to get into the program.

Concordia University Seward was my undergrad college. My masters was at Concordia University Texas. Seward is a great Christian university. It is truly a place where students come closer to God. Class sizes are small and professors really do care about you there. They just added new athletic facilities 5 years ago and are top notch.

I loved it! It was online but all of the professors were very kind and responsive to emails and phone calls and offered good constructive criticism.

Degree: Nursing

Concordia University in Austin Texas was a great choice to attend for my Bachelors in Nursing degree. The professors would pray with us. We went on missions trips and the professors all had different background experience to teach each student. The school was always open for resources you needed. And all local hospitals in the area would give the school high ratings, because how prepared we were when visiting the hospital for clinicals.

I do feel that my experiences at Concordia University will prepare me for my future endeavors. I took online courses due to the conflicts I had as a coach for an extracurricular activity at a high school. However, it sounds like the students who took the actual class had to do less work than the online students. Both groups should be doing the same amount of work. I will admit though that I think the online classes were better prepared for the state examination. I passed the state examination the... Read More

Having my program online has been super convenient with my 60+ hour work weeks. I do miss the benefits of a traditional classroom however, with my work schedule, it would have been impossible to make it work. Everyone with the school, from admissions to my teachers (most of them) has been incredibly helpful.

I really enjoy Concordia's atmosphere and the faculty. It is a relaxed but intelligent environment. Also, the students it attracts are extremely thoughtful and kind compared to other universities I've been to. They actively check in with new students to see if you are alright and offer help, guidance, and even recommendations on where to meet other students after class!

Concordia's online program is outstanding. Not only is the work challenging and enlightening, the professors are there to help you grow both as an educator and as a human. I wish I had the opportunity to take classes in person to see its new lakeside campus, but the online program has given me just as valuable of an education.

The pros of my graduate program is that it allows me to obtain my masters at a well timed pace. I can receive a degree in an area that I really love to be a part of. Other programs require me to obtain a educational leadership to be an assistant principal/athletic director. I do not want to be an assistant principle, I want to follow my dreams of being an athletic director or sports administration in some way. The only con I can see is the cost of the program.
