As an Alumni of Florida Atlantic University, I could honestly say that I am satisfied with my experience at the University. I really appreciate the tutoring and Academic Advising services provided. I had wonderful Educators how were very helpful along the way and believed in my ability to succeed in my degree program. The program admission process was highly involved and competitive. There was a face-to-face interview along with providing recommendations. The program is structured well on paper. They have all the appropriate programs and amount of clinical hours. Where this University falls short are their professors. Most of the classes are online. So far one has been hybrid. The in-person class was a few hours long, the professor did not speak English well and was hard to understand, and we went over Powerpoints,... Read More which could have been done at home. It was a waste of time. One of the professors, although nice, does not challenge the students and there appears to be a knowledge deficit in the programs they teach. Another of the professors does not know how to work the online platform, which effectively decreases student chances of success. This is a program that I will stick with as I believe they are going to provide me with the education I deserve, but there are some changes that need to be made in the Professors.

I came to Florida Atlantic University following my Associates degree I received at Broward College. Originally when I attended university, I did not have a major in mind and stuck with a generic "Liberal Arts" degree. After much consideration, I decided upon Psychology as my degree. While money and accessibility were major driving factors for choosing FAU, I am very pleased with my overall experience and quality of education that I received.

Many of the professors that I knew at Broward also taught... Read More at FAU. My favorite Psychology professor at Broward also taught at FAU. He was an experienced doctor who was able to provide real-world experience, which taught me more than what could have been found in a textbook. His stories still stick with me, even now. He, along with my other Psychology professors each brought something different to the table and really deepened my love for Psychology.

What impressed me most was not just the price but the quality of the education. My favorite Psychology professor used to called Broward and FAU as the "Harvard of the south." I feel like this accurately describes the education. It was high quality, but at a price that was fair!

Outside of the courses I took for my major, I greatly enjoyed my electives as well. I took Pilates and she was an active instructor, and she was amazing as well! I attended 2 different campuses (Broward and Boca Raton) as well as online classes. I did have maybe a handful of classes that weren't great, but I feel that these are outliers instead of the norm.

I did consider Nova South Eastern University, and even switching over the Barry University to pursue a more accelerated program. However, for the price and what I personally read, it wasn't worth it.

The only things that frustrated me was that I was forced to attend multiple campuses to get all of the required credits I needed to graduate.

Overall I would absolutely recommend attending Florida Atlantic University!

I participated in the Executive Masters in Accounting program. It was a great program for those who are working full-time to be able to earn a masters degree at the same time. Over 2.5 years I took 1-2 classes per semester. The workload of the classes seemed pretty balanced each semester so that I was never overwhelmed with everything on my plate. My experience with FAU was a great one. The Creative Writing program is fully funded so I didn't have to take out loans to attend on in-state tuition. I would recommend FAU to anyone not pursuing the same degree I did, management of information systems with a cybersecurity focus BBA, and MS in IT Management. After graduating, I started at helpdesk, which is entry level for this career path, but the MS almost overqualified me. The actual field of IT work is very different from what I learned.
