I had a great experience in my undergraduate studies at FSU. I participated in scholarship programs and clubs, enjoyed rich social opportunities and nightlife, and appreciated the campus atmosphere. Like all universities, there are bureaucratic and political issues at a higher level, but the student experience was great.

Florida State University has provided one of the best student experiences for me as both an undergraduate and a graduate student. I took classes as an undergraduate and had an amazing on-campus experience. There were plenty of organizations that I could connect with. My professors were really great and engaging in most of my campus courses. When I decided to pursue my graduate degree, I did it online and had an even more exciting experience. My professors were helpful and made the experience really... Read More

Florida State University was an extremely fun and impactful experience. I was hesitant about attending a large public university; however, it ended up being a fantastic decision. There were more opportunities than I could have imagined between clubs, internships, study abroad, and many others.

Flexibility is super important, and FSU has an excellent online master's program in Library Science/Information. You can even add value by adding an internship to your studies, even as an online student, so that is a super bonus. Professors are engaged and prepared, and ready and willing to help you on your educational journey. You can attend full or part time and can tailor your focus with your choice of classes/electives, so again, flexibility is key. Resources are available and plentiful. Class... Read More

I enjoyed my time at Florida State. I was able to work part-time at a research clinic under the supervision of a professor and graduate students. I was also able to intern at the Florida State Mental Hospital (not affiliated with the school) where I got hands on experience with real residents and see the actual day to day work of a psychiatrist. The professors are dedicated to their work and research and it shows how passionate they are. I ended up going to law school but I always knew I wanted to... Read More

FSU’s social work program was one of the best decisions for my academic career. The professors there are incredibly knowledgeable on the profession and are great resources for post-grad information. The only thing that didn’t click for me personally was how big the school was. I had a hard time meeting others when I first started.

Pretty awesome place to be. Everyone is incredibly kind and it's surprising how many people go out of their way to help you out with things. Campus resources are very responsive and timely and generally quite helpful, from the accommodations services all the way to the health clinic. Not to mention, campus is gorgeous and is kept up with well, so it's always a great environment to be in. Tons of upside, very little downsides, and most of those negative attributes go for any college and degree program... Read More

Florida State University had an easy application process and getting in was great. However after I got in the process fell apart. I originally had an advisor that was not easy to reach and missed deadlines due to not having the support I needed going into my program. After taking some time off I came back to school which was a process due to missing the deadline due to the old advisor. My new advisor is excellent and has made it so much easier. If I had her the whole time I would not use rated as... Read More

Florida State provided me with great opportunities, not only in the classroom learning about Psychology but through opportunities like working in a research lab, connecting me with volunteer organizations, and through allowing me to make connections with other students and professionals in the field. Not only this, but going to school there was fun! It allowed me to come out of my shell more.

I was able to complete my degree while working full-time. The faculty was very accommodating of my work schedule, which I appreciated. The public history program really does connect you with multiple cultural institutions around Tallahassee (Goodwood, the Knott House, Tallahassee Historic Preservation Trust, etc.) And the degree measurably contributed to my current work. Actually, I was asked a question the other day and realized it inherently required information I researched for my capstone (related... Read More

I had a great time during my years at Florida State University. I attended this school for both my Bachelor's and Master's degree and could not recommend it more. The college environment living in a smaller town from my home in Miami really gave me the full college experience. The Greek life scene is great too and offers plenty of extracurricular activities outside of classes.

At Middle Tennessee State University I was exposed to many different cultures, ways of thinking, and types of professors. With my actuarial degree I was able to get many different levels of math with several different professors. Professors at MTSU were willing to help while also challenging you to figure things out for yourself. I would rate my time at MTSU as good,

My program is one of the best in the nation, but it's also small enough that you receive individual support and attention. There does need to be more assistance and support for students who enter into degree levels with less academic skills than others (ex: academic writing practice). My experience was that without an already established practice of academic writing style some semesters felt like playing "catch up" to where others were at. But, at the end of the day, I felt I graduated with such... Read More

Despite graduating in a class that was affected by COVID, the opportunities I had as a Sport Management student at FSU were truly unmatched. I got to intern for athletics in a few different areas and gain a better understanding of where in the industry I would like to be. The fact that my classes were primarily remote did make it hard to network with my fellow students, but that's not the schools fault, that's just a symptom of being in school during COVID. That was honestly my biggest gripe with... Read More
