The pros are that you get a respected degree in education that is known around New York City DOE schools. The con is that some of the professors grading and teaching styles can be unpredictable throughout the semester, which is not very helpful for developing teachers.

Degree: MSW
The pros are the very important and informative education that is provided to the students of the MSW program. I have learned so much since I started at Fordham University and have made new friends who we assist each other when necessary for our assignments. The professors are helpful and are very understanding, at least to my own experience. There are not any cons that I could think of at the moment.

I believe the support from faculty, the type of courses, small class sizes, fieldwork experiences are a tremendous assest to the my graduate program. The tuition, financial aid/scholarships, access to support staff for financial aid, and certain technology service could use improvement.

I have enjoyed Fordham very much in terms of what I have learned; however, as a single-mother to a five year-old, it can still be costly. I am looking forward to graduating in the spring and considering receiving my master's. The most important thing I have appreciated the most is the professors and their flexibility in understanding the adult learners speed as a parent with a full-time job.

Academically, Fordham was a fantastic university. They really emphasized learning a wide variety of subjects that I may not otherwise have chosen to study. The majority of the professors were engaged and driven as were fellow classmates. However, graduating with a BA degree in Communications and Media studies from this school has left me feeling very unprepared for the real world. While I learned a lot of theoretical knowledge, I received very little practical training and feel ill equipped to do... Read More

I loved Fordham! The professors, for the most part, were very educated and inspirational. There were lots of time slots and options for classes and most of the lectures were educational. There was a great variety of students and lots of options at the campus.

Fordham University was my first choice when applying to schools. Though I sometimes think I should have chosen another NYC school, I believe that Fordham is where I was meant to be. That being said, it was frustrating at times to be in certain classes, whether because of complacent students or distracted professors. Amongst the faculty, there are a few stars, many of whom I remain in contact with today. As with any university, what you put in is what you'll get out. If you show professors that you... Read More
