Degree: Law

Howard University, is located in Washington D.C., the law school is a shuttle ride from the main campus and has a more quieter and refined air to it. That could be the proximity to rock creek park or the simple fact that thurgood Marshall is also an alumni. My experience was enjoyable and unique. The times go by surprisingly fast but the lessons I learned there will last a lifetime.

My experience at Howard Law has been my most challenging and rewarding experience to date. It is humbling to stand on the foundation that was laid by the incredibly compassionate and exceptional human beings that have come before me. The short falls in the financial aide office and some of the administrative interactions are completely out weighed by the incredible support of the students, staff and alumni; from helping with class feedback to helping you find resources. Howard University School of Law provides students with a quality education. The faculty are experts in their field of study, whom are willing to help student success. The Department of Career services is diligent in working with student to assist in obtaining they jobs in the area they wish to practice. As an incoming 1L, I've already met with faculty and career services to discuss my goals for my future practice as an attorney.

My professors are approachable, helpful, and hold students accountable for their education. We have many oppurtunities to engage with individuals practicing in the D.C. metro area and the surrounding areas. While I love my school, it is very expensive to live in the D.C. Metro area.

Howard University is one of the best historically black law schools. The education experience and networking opportunities yield nothing, but success in the legal field.

Howard University School of Law offers a great and affordable program for those who are serious about a legal career. Of course with schools like Howard, there are bound to be administrative issues i.e. financial aid taking or lack of up-to-date technology. I feel that the education you receive at Howard make up for its shortcomings. Although it is extremely competitive, which all law schools are, Howard has an amazing network and the professors are more than supportive.

Administration has its flaws, but there is no law school network superior to that of HUSL.
