Really wonderful and nice campus in a diverse town that has the small town charm, but many large town amenities. Employees, staff, and professors are great and supportive utilizing a state of the art facility to help teach the art and science of Veterinary Medicine in the Doctorate program. Not a day goes by that I don't feel I didn't make the right choice to be a part of this DVM program.

It is a great overall program. Some classes do need to be reassessed as to how they are being taught. Also, they are going through a tough time right now because the surgery program is being redone and that are using the current classes as guinea pigs to figure out how to best teach us without terminal surgeries. I think it is a great thought that they have, because we will get more spay and neuter time but all the quirks are not yet figured out and it can be frustrating for those who are going through... The Veterinary Medicine graduate program has an incredible reputation, and for good reason! The professors are very knowledgable and understand the students desire to learn. Professors are very accessible and facilitate a positive learning environment.

Nice being able to have my program connected to my undergraduate programs. Saved alot of paperwork and provided me with connections and networking opportunities out of state students or students from other undergrad institutions may not have had.

The program is challenging and currently VetMed as a career choice has issues to work out in the cost of education vs job salary outlook. But if you are set into getting into veterinary medicine, I would highly suggest attending Iowa State!
