My experience at LECOM by far has been the worst experience of my entire life. The faculty and staff are condescending and rude to students and once you pay your tuition LECOM is sink or swim. The school couldn't care less about your well being or success and if you disagree with something or voice an opinion you are immediately put on the chopping block. You are responsible for teaching yourself the material and if you can't do that then you're really going to have a hard time. Don't be surprised... Read More

When looking at different schools for a MPH program LECOM was the best fit for me. I decided to receive my MPH to get a better understanding of Public Health in hopes to go to medical school after. I love the teacher to student ratio because you can actually speak to your professor and they know who you are. This program is very flexible and great if you’re working and have a busy life.

I recently completed the post-baccalaureate program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in April of 2017. To start off, I would highly recommend it to those who are struggling to get into medical school due to their GPA, MCAT score, or those who simply want to reaffirm their passion to pursue a career in medicine. The two pluses to the program is the linkage to their osteopathic medical school and the cheap tuition. To matriculated from the post-baccalaureate program into their medical... Read More

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is wonderful to offer 3 distinct campuses with unique programs at each. At Seton Hill's campus, I am fortunate to learn not solely in a didactic/lecture format, but the core of our sciences curriculum stems from case files designed to simulate ER, Primary Care, or Specialist visits. It allows us to work on our differential, research, laboratory, and diagnostic abilities and skills. This problem based method, in my opinion, will not only provide a useful tool... Read More

LECOM is a wonderful school. The staff are not only kind but very helpful. They truly are there to help the students succeed. The enrollment process is simple and straightforward. The classes are very interesting but very fast paced. And the grading is also very fair.

My graduate program strongly emphasizes an open door policy with their professors and wants to ensure our success as future health professionals. There are many clubs and organizations to get involved in, specific to each program of study, and my graduate program strongly supports involvement in the community. Students go out and serve the community in various ways whether it's doing health screenings in public places or volunteering.

I attend LECOM's Bradenton campus, located in Bradenton, FL. I am very pleased with my decision of attending LECOM's pharmacy program. In my opinion, the academic staff that is employed there are beyond great. The professors are knowledgeable in their field of study, they provide support , encouragement, and motivation to succeed in the pharmacy field. The campus itself is not large, consisting of one main building shared by medical and pharmacy students. Two lecture halls, accommodating over 150... Read More

Pros: I do not need to go to traditional lectures as much as other dental school. I can pace myself to catch up with the school Cons: There are nothing fun to do around the area, but it helps you to concentrate on what you do

There was no option to select "D.O." degree program, but M.D. is comparable; same qualifications and credentials, but DO requires 100+ hours of training in osteopathic manipulative treatment/medicine. The Problem-Based Learning curriculum is very productive and forces students to develop inter-personal skills while simultaneously learning the basic, pre-clinical sciences. Bradenton is an up-and-coming area with vast development. The students and faculty are very friendly and willing to help.

I think the professors all do a very good job at being available to explain concepts more if needed. There are also student tutors to help. The workload can be very strenuous but pharmacy school is supposed to be challenging. The cost of living near school seems to be more expensive since it is in a growing area. Most students that have roommates can afford to live near school but others that live alone cannot afford it and have to live 30 minutes away or further. For being a professional school... Read More

The big pro of this school is the fact that we don't necessarily compete with each other but instead work together in order to achieve the greatest possible outcomes from our education. The big con is that the dental school is still relatively new so the college is working out a few bugs as they go forward.

Overall this school challenges you in just about everything you have to do as a student. The administration can be frustrating at times, but I take it as an opportunity to learn how to respond in the face of adversity. Medical school is not intended to be easy. Otherwise, everyone would become a doctor. I have learned much about myself as well as the necessary science to succeed as a future physician by going here.

I've just started my education at LECOM and so far I'm very impressed. The school is small but seems to provide everything needed for med students. I've had great experiences with the administration and staff, who are all helpful and quick to respond to inquiries. The students seem friendly and enthusiastic. And the location of the school is very nice, with great weather, safe environment, and the ocean nearby. Cost of living is very reasonable, with lots of new apartments being built near campus.... My graduate program offers a lot of interaction with the community and being involved in what is going on in other programs as well. I enjoy knowing that the Med students and Dental students are doing and working along side them to offer the most efficient patient care. One downfall is the affordability of the area. Living in Florida is not cheap but it is so much fun!

This program for medicine offers flexibility of learning and top-notch education value. Students are well prepared to enter residency and function on a high level within a medical team. Much of the classwork and arrangement of clinical rotations and residency is completely the responsiblity of the student; there is no counselor to hold hands through the process. At this level, though, students should be able to take initiative and perform independently.
