Lakeland University offered a fantastic option that allowed me to take my final 2 years of college online. I had my associates degree from a prior college and transferred credits, so all I needed was credits for the final 2 years. My major was computer science and I was able to take every class online, including the remaining core classes. The instructors and class material was both relevant and helpful. I took a class in Android Development over the summer as an optional elective and it was probably... Read More

Bad experience, cruel staff. Do not recommend. A much better choice would be the state university system. These folks do not have the credentials to teach what they are teaching. Nor do they possess the professional etiquette required in a academic setting.

The only thing I got out of this university is a $30k student loan that I can't afford to pay. Also, I wasn't aware that there were two types of computer science degrees until graduation when I found out mine was a BACHELOR OF ARTS not a BACHELOR OF SCIENCE. Didn't help me get a job so now I'm a truck driver with a computer science degree. Courses weren't relative to the technology being used in the real world. Don't waste your money, go to a tech school or a UW school.

Instructors in the MA Counseling program have been good/great. But they are all adjuncts so the school has trouble attracting and retaining, and very few have PhD. The MAC program is disorganized and badly-run and it's hard to avoid driving all over the state to get the required classes. Administration and advising staff provide little-to-no support in finding internships or resolving problems. Program claims to be pursuing CACREP accreditation but for two years has not sent in the application. Communication... Read More

My instructors have been excellent and overall the program is good however be aware the "BlendEd" is not really a thing. There have been zero courses offered via BlendEd for the Clinical Counseling program. Although they touted BlendEd to me during recruitment as a big selling point over other schools and programs, once I got two semesters into my program I discovered that everyone has to literally drive to other cities to take the required classes because they don't use the BlendEd at all despite... I attended Lakeland University for my undergrad and when it was time to apply for graduate school I decided to go back to Lakeland. The BlendEd option was extremely helpful for me because I work full time and have a child. I didn't have to give up on my education. I also have the flexibility to attend the classes in person if I needed to.

Lakeland University's master in school counseling program provides value through its internship opportunities, but not as much through its classroom instruction. You will pass your classes with ease but not be challenged to understand the material. They rely on the internship experience to help you prepare for your career as a counselor. The internship experiences are very good and there are many great connections to organizations for internships and possible future job opportunities.

Lakeland College was a warm and inviting institution that fulfilled all my academic needs. All the professors were involved in the success of each student. Smaller class sizes showed that we were more than just someone filling a seat. As a student athlete I found the curriculum to be challenging but feasible for those who were dedicated to their own success in the classroom.

This program is focused on nontraditional students and allows for both face to face classes and online learning. Tuition is expensive, but I worked to find ways that would help with the cost such as.scholarships. I would recommend this college to someone else who would be interested in obtaining. Degree in counseling.

As a non-tradition graduate student at Lakeland College, I enjoy the flexibility of evening and online classes to complete my degree. The new Milwaukee center is innovative, making my peers and I connect live throughout Wisconsin, other states, and even at the center in Japan. I enjoy the diversity of my instructors and classmates, and chose Lakeland as the college is accredited by the Wisconsin Licensing Board to obtain my Professional Counselors license when ready. Lakeland College offers students many options for learning and as I am working full-time it is convenient for me to take as many classes online as possible. Lakeland also has many satellite campuses which allows students like me who do not live near any one major campus to attend face to face classes. Lakeland College does not offer any scholarships to its graduate students. I would greatly appreciate any financial help that I would be given to complete my education and move on to the next phase... Read More

Lakeland is a great school. All the staff are there to help you succeed and will work with you to make sure they are meeting your needs. Classes were small and located in convenient locations and times. I never felt rushed or told what classes to take always guided. The Blend Ed courses are wonderful, they give you the ability to participate in class if you are not able to physically attend. Lakeland was the best choice I could make to complete my education!

Pros would include the size of the campus, it is small enough where I feel like each class can really engage in a specific student. I also like how it prepares you for the work force. Cons would include the traveling for me and the false advertisement of being able to do blend-ed classes.
