I don't believe I had a single hands-on professor. They relied on public worksheets they found online and never actually taught a class. Students had to teach themselves. Assignments were automatically graded by computers. Liberty was lacking in almost every department.

I have really loved my experience at Liberty University. All the teacher are kind and helpful. The workload is manageable and they work with students ho have other priorities outside of school. I really enjoyed the Christian environment and how they integrated that into the education.

I experienced thorough and adequate academic teaching from Liberty University. The classes I took were diagnostically sound, and contained a great deal of reliable input from seasoned professors and therapists. The intensive courses were incredibly valuable in gaining hands on experience and seeing some of the best counselors in action. It also very thoughtfully and respectfully incorporated the Christian worldview. The one struggle I had with it is a similar one with all colleges; the cost. Especially... Read More

Overall, I enjoyed my day to day experience at Liberty. Since graduating, there has been a lot of drama about the school’s leadership in the news which makes it a little hard to fully recommend Liberty to others. Despite this, I loved my day to day time there and left having learned a ton about my field and making my closest friends.

I did enjoy my time at Liberty. I thought the teachers were very kind and helpful. I also appreciated the variety of classes I took and the information that I learned. I would recommend this school to some but not everyone. While all the teachers that I dealt with were fair, this does have a reputation as a very conservative school and I know others who dealt with teachers that carried a lot of bias. I, personally, enjoyed my time at liberty and would consider other degrees there.

Liberty University has a great community of people who all work together to achieve good things in the world and spread the gospel of Christ. While the courses are not the most rigorous in the world, there are opportunities for everyone to get whatever they want out of their education. The facilities are top-notch, and the professors are generally helpful and friendly. I would easily recommend LU to anyone looking for a solid Christian education.

I transferred to online Liberty University around the time Covid started. I really enjoyed the way classes were structured. For me personally, I liked how there was more of a reading aspect than video classes. I transferred from online Pensacola Christian College where the classes were recorded and had to be watched. With Liberty University, the reading was more conducive for my education as I tend to lose focus when watching classes. Overall, I would recommend Liberty University to someone looking... Read More

took masters in special education during covid they lied to me about if it would help me in my state, it doesn't help me get licensure in nyc despite recruiters telling me, afterwards 3 yrs in they tell me it doesn't help. Really late, beware of their lies. Online courses are terribly intuitive and they also charge a technology fee that's like 350 dollars to add onto your tuition, but you get trash service. I hope this review helps any future attendee. Look elsewhere for better online programs.

Liberty university was affordable, provided quality education, and was peofessional. They provided a nuanced biblical view of subjects, while also being practical and not spending too much time on irrelevant matters. Classes were conducted professionally and fairly.

I like the biblical teachings of the school and how it has integrated this into the academics of the programs. I like that it was done at my own pace but still had timelines with having to complete the work by a certain day of the week. The online classes were organized with a chart and was easy to see whether or not I completed the assignments. I have still not found a job in my career so that has been the downside. I also feel that I don’t know how I would do things in a job on certain aspects... Read More

Liberty University is a great school as far as online education. I loved that it worked well with me as a working adult. When I was younger, I wanted to be a therapist. Back then, the pay and the amount of education were fair. These days, the student loan debt is not worth the stress. I am currently getting ready to self-study for medical coding. My degree did not get me a very good job, and I am still struggling to make ends meet. I have a whole lot of student loans still as well. To be honest,... Read More

The cost for the 2 semesters I attended was 10 thousand dollars mostly for required Bible study classes. I think my greatest frustration was being lead to believe this was a 0 to completion course for aviation only to find 2 semesters in that you already needed 100 hours of flight time. My 10 thousand dollars would have been better spent towards that really. Totally not worth the costs.

It was going great until the dissertation phase. I was dragged on and misled about the prospects of the total cost and time required. Had to do many course repeats for years and still jobless. False promises on higher wages and jobs, never happened. Debt trap that lures hungry people thinking they'll be better off but even if the very few survive through Ph.D. hell, it won't guarantee anything. Some then go to the postdoc treadmill and little to none will live to tell the tale. Probably won't graduate... Read More

I found out quickly that the school was not based on these basic principles, but expects their students to fully buy in, boarding on indoctrination. None of this is upfront or clear to applicants before or during the application process. It is entirely concealed until financial commitment is finalized. As I had not engaged in any of the courses (I hadn't completed any assignments and hadn't had any interaction with the professors) and having it never been clear how engrained religion would be in... A lot of these reviews you can tell are from people who are emotional about recent dealings with the school so I'm going to try to give it to you straight. First, some background. I already have a graduate degree from LU and am currently pursuing a doctorate. I chose LU simply because the military discount is too good to pass up and, unlike what the internet says, nobody in the workforce gives a crap where you went to college only that you did and its accredited. I have never been asked about where... Read More
Ok let's get to the bad stuff and again, this is all from someone who is more or less satisfied with what they are getting out of it. This school is horrible if you A)actually want to learn and B)do not have a lot of time to jump through hoops to make sure you pass. Especially at the grad\doctoral level. In my grad program I had perfect A's except one single class because the professor didn't like how, and I'm quoting here, "many questions I asked". That same professor then proceeded to outright make fun of the timber and volume of my voice in a presentation I submitted(I am a disabled veteran, I am extremely hard of hearing). Now when I say that this professor made fun of me I don't mean that they said something I could misconstrue as an insult. It was an outright, elementary school playground level bullying. Period. Now to be honest I did nothing about it because A) I had no respect for them as a person and one can't be insulted by someone one doesn't respect and B) I knew the school would do jack about it anyway so why waste my time. But that is a 100% true story from someone who again, is more or less satisfied with how things went overall. Take or leave it. The second I graduate and get the diploma from this program though I will be posting the emails\canvas information as well as the voicemail on YouTube for all to see.
Now on to the Doctorate level program. I am just a few classes in and it's horrible but horrible as how I knew it would be based on previous experience. The amount of busywork is literally insurmountable for adults with jobs. The assignments repeat, sometimes verbatim class to class(again I'm only a few classes in and this was also an issue I saw in the grad program). The intructors mark you off for random things that are not in the rubric nor explained and even copy\paste comments between students(when you write a paper on pizza and they make comments about sandwiches it's pretty clear). When you do ask questions one of two things happens: 9 times out of 10 they are flat out ignored. Nothing. Not a word. The 1 time of 10 you will get a list of "resources" like the online writing lab or the APA manual. That is all. A few of the instructors also give blatantly false information about how and when to do things including when it comes to APA. When you ask for clarification they tell you to see the manual....which just goes on to proves they are wrong! Again, I just smile, nod and do whatever they want. I have no respect for the school or the professors so why let them stress me out? I'm there for the paper.
Let's get to the god stuff. I'm an atheist and in fact I educationally judge people who truly believe in some diety. That said YOU. WILL. HAVE. TO. FORCE. BIBLE. BULL. INTO. EVERY. ASSIGNMENT. Now I have played around with this. Sometimes I do it and I get no feedback, other times I "forget" and I get no feedback. Sometimes I do it and am told how I "Feel" about "God" is wrong(maybe they can tell I'm making it up?) Who knows? That all said I have settled on a process of asking AI about concepts in the Bible that relate to whatever I wrote about and using the AI response as a reference to form my "own thoughts". Just because I'm going to half-ass the Bible bull doesn't mean I am going to outright cheat. You can also tell that many of the professors don't really care about the Jesus angle as well.
One last thing: the quality of the work and your effort. Thanks to discussion boards you can get a good idea of the quality of writing and effort other students are putting into the work. I am being 100% serious here: in doctoral level classes I have seen the following (LMK, FR, bussin', etc etc). Not kidding in the slightest. Now why do I care what others do? Well seeing how I see the names again and again as the course progresses and in other courses as well, well that implies they are passing with minimal effort. So why would I break my back to write Ulysses when "bussin" seems to be enough? The answer is I wouldn't so I don't. I have turned in bonafide A+ papers and gotten B's and have "half-you know whated" papers and gotten As.
Take all of this as you will but again know its from someone who is satisfied with how its all working out and how the degrees spend in the real world. If you want to learn you should run from this place as break neck speed. If you want a degree that will more or less spend in the real world like any other school, for a fraction of the cost, then consider it. Just be prepared to play school like it's a game show and not....you know, a school.

The administrative staff at Liberty University were polite and professional in my experience. However, once I actually started my first doctoral-level course, the reality was very different.
I ended up withdrawing from all but one course, following Liberty’s own policies that allow drops before the start date or during the drop/add period without penalty. The reason I kept just one class was to see if it might improve—but it did not. The educational value felt very low, and there was almost no actual... Read More
I originally chose Liberty because of its ability to process complicated outside educational funding, its broad program options, and the appeal of its Christian identity. Those factors made it seem like a good fit. Unfortunately, my experience with this one doctoral course has completely soured my view of Liberty at the graduate level. I will not pursue another graduate program here. At best, I might consider an undergraduate language program just to use up my educational funding, but I will not return for graduate study.
In my opinion, the overall quality of higher education in the U.S. is inconsistent, and Liberty’s graduate-level program reflects that larger problem.

However, once I enrolled and took my first class, it was a different ball game.

I have outside educational funding with a deadline that basically pigeon holed me into Liberty University as they were/are one of the few schools with numerous program options, ability and willingness to process complicated education funding. The "Christian University" aspect also appealed to me.
The whole experience with this one course has been poor. I am learning from this experience that graduate level education is something that I will never choose to pursue at Liberty University again.
I may opt for an undergraduate language training program just to use up my educational funding after this current "graduate" level doctoral class is over with. However, my opinion of Liberty University is now permanently soured.
I would also like to note that higher education in general is a bit of a low quality mess in much of America.
