The absolute worst school in all facets. From the poor communications on all levels to the absolutely rude overseer of SLP online Roxanne. She needs to be fired immediately. Do not go here under any circumstances. You WILL TEACH YOURSELF HERE!! Save yourself your money and do not waste it here!!

I have been at Longwood University for about a year. I have taken multiple courses in Speech Language Pathology as prerequisites. My classes have all been online, but highly engaged. My professors have been kind and helpful as well. I do notice that there is a lot of reusing in terms of course material from past professors teaching the same courses from different semesters. I think that this is a great school for prerequisites if you are looking for a fast-paced curriculum. It has also been interesting... Read More

This program primarily consists of getting internship or volunteer hours. The academic workload is the easiest that I’ve ever encountered and even far less than my undergraduate courses. This is not what I expected at all. There are no difficult assignments or papers to write which is a good thing, but it’s not challenging compared to what my friends are experiencing at other institutions.

The online SLP program was truly the poorest excuse for an education I've experienced. Disorganized course material, irrelevant and extraneous work on impeding the real work needing to be done, and all the professors could be bothered to do was read from PowerPoints that didn't even have all of the information. It was not difficult due to the material; it was difficult due to poor teaching skills and terrible course design. Even if you successfully passed these courses, you're just as prepared for... This review is based on my application process for Longwood University’s online MBA program: I applied for Longwood’s MBA program for the Spring 2021 semester. Application process was super easy and they made you choose between 2 tracks: general business or real estate. Being a person of color, I wanted to see more students who talked about the program because the majority of the people that are promoting the Mba program are Caucasian. I did not see any reviews on the program and later found out... Read More

The program was extremely challenging, but it really pushed me to know the material. I found the faculty will truly stand behind you 100% if you needed anything from extra help in the classroom to a recommendation, they definitely will help you out in any way! I loved the small classes sizes, really allowed me to get to know professors and for them to get to know me! I loved this school and this program, this program gave me an array of opportunities! Longwood's online program was a very convenient and cost effective way to get my prerequisite studies done. Several of the professors were very knowledgeable and helpful, and I acquired most of the skills necessary for my graduate studies. It was far from the most intellectually stimulating experience, but I was able to do it while keeping my full time job.

Longwood University has a fantastic Communication Sciences and Disorders program. I had the opportunity to learn from two highly revered professors, Dr. Agee and Dr. Power-deFur. Students who attend this university will be well prepared for graduate school and the pursuit of a career in Speech Language Pathology.

My college is a small public university. The size of Longwood University has many benefits. One of them is the small class sizes which allowed for the professors to form a personal relationship with students and have more one-on-one instruction. Additionally, it gives the institution a community feel. I believe as long as students are involved in their studies and extracurricular activities they will enjoy their time at this wonderful university.

Longwood University is a small, community based school located in rural Farmville VA. Longwood offers some online classes; however, the majority of their classes take place on campus. Instructors on campus are highly qualified and invest time into their students. Instructors truly care about the success of their students. Longwood also has a wonder career advising faculty. Students can receive help with resumes, job searches, and even participate in mock interviews. Instructors are always willing... Read More

Longwood was a great experience. The campus is fun and engaging. If you let it, the school welcomes you with open arms and really gives you a home away from home. Their education program is wonderful and gives a large amount of in school experience that the students don't always get at other schools.

It was fun and a great community. The area is pretty small and country and is in a good location to richmond and lynchburg. I enjoyed my time there and met lots of people

I'm really glad that I choose to go to Longwood for my graduate degree. The program is small and you really get to know the other students since you will most likely be in multiple classes together at once. The professors are friendly and laid back which makes them easy to talk to. My adviser is amazing and I enjoy that I've had her twice in class in my first year. Since it is a small program there are not many professors which makes it difficult to offer the same classes every semester so at times... Read More

Longwood has a wonderful undergraduate and graduate program for Communication Sciences and Disorders. The town of Farmville is somewhat small. I love the area, but if the city is more your preference, then it may not be the best fit. Sometimes the workload piles up a lot, but it is definitely bearable. The professors are very supportive and always willing to answer questions. They are very helpful when it comes to placements. One even recommended somewhere for me to live. I highly recommend Longwood.... Read More

Longwood has been educating teachers for over a century. In this time, many classes of future leaders have walked through its doors. The University's name speaks for itself in the education world by keeping its students up to date in the best teaching practices and preparing them to be professionally competitive in their fields. I really like the CSDS program at Longwood. It is challenging and provides graduate students with opportunities to do hands-on learning. It is a small program on a small campus, which is beneficial because everything is done on a personal level.

The SPED program here at Longwood provides future teachers with the tools they need in order to better their future students' education. The professors are helpful and continuously lifting you up in all that you do with positives and a few "fix its" with each and every experience. Unfortunately, however, not all of the professors are as passionate about the subject as others, which makes it difficult to make you, as a student, want to succeed and do well in the class.

Pros: strong program, the faculty work with you with placements, faculty is available, new facility to work with, the small town also makes you concentrate on the work, program is small enough to give you personal attention. Cons: surrounding area is a very small town, having a car is a necessity in this town because there is not much transportation.
