Like all nurse practitioner programs, there were hiccups finding clinical placements and some classes did not feel like they helped in future jobs (this still feels correct) but overall, the professors were knowledgeable, friendly and passionate. I would recommend to those who can afford it. The expense to go there did make it challenging.

MGH Institute of Health Professions is a PWI located in New England. I was a student of color and did not feel as comfortable as I wanted to due to the overall demographics of the institution. The academics was highly regarded, but I did not feel supported in my clinical experiences as my supervisors did not take in regard on my financial status as a working class student. Most of my peers were from middle to high income families.

Hybrid situation with fewer clinical placements than there are students who need them. Priority not given for placements even though they claim to be part of the Mass General system. I see way more students from BC and Northeastern on the floors. Professors are clinicians and most work somewhere in MGB system. Recent news is they laid off 20 employees due to business decisions that failed.

The tuition for this University is not $65,696. It is actually $90k per year. The problem with this institute is that it is based on greed. This is what will happen to you. You will get accepted into the Master’s degree program then they will have you take out a loan for $240,000. Then you will start going to the program and something will come up where they will have some policy or some requirement which will have you repeat a class and that will totally spoil your original plan and you will be... MGH Institute Health Professions Communication Sciences and Disorders Program is one of the most personally and academically supportive programs I could recommend. The faculty provides amazing clinical placement opportunities and crucial clinical experience. Their focus on literacy is unmatched in the field and my interest in literacy has been fostered. For anyone interested in the connection between speech/language and literacy, MGHIHP is a pioneer in the field.

MGH Institute of Health Professions is an excellent institution for many reasons: the faculty and adjunct professors, the endless resources through the MGH/Harvard/Partners networks, and the tight-knit community feel at the school. MGHIHP is a small (around 1k students) graduate school specifically for health care professionals (RN, DPT, DOT, PA, DNP) who already have an undergraduate degree. We participate in many interdisciplinary activities and community events as a school. We get the "best of... Read More

I absolutely love the Masters of Physician Assistant Studies program. We use a team-based learning technique, and a type of "reverse-classroom" curriculum which cements the information we're learning into our brains. I feel I've learned so much in such a short period of time, and feel that the information has stuck overtime. In speaking with the second year PA students, who are on their clinical rotations, they have felt very prepared for their rotations, and have received wonderful feedback from... Read More

This school lured students in by stating they would get a 1 year paid internship at the end of the program. As we approached the internship selection process they divulged that up to 25% of the class may not get a paid internship, and they urged people to opt out for a 16 week unpaid internship. The faculty was hit and miss, very few had a truly open door policy to discuss questions. Many urged you to exhaust every other resource first, taking valuable time away from studying for other courses. The... Read More

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy student. This is a challenging accelerated program. As a student, I have felt prepared for my clinical experiences. We also learn the newest information in technologically equipped classrooms. There is plenty of space to practice new skills. In past experience, students are willing to help one another because we are not ranked. One really helpful study tool is the ability for the professors to record lectures. This has come in handy when reviewing for exams as well... Read More

MGHIHP is a competitive and challenging school. The quality of the nursing clinical experiences have been the out of this world, I have learned so much and have only completed two semesters so far. The administration can be disorganized which does cause for some frustration amongst the class. On the whole, everything always works out, you just have to be flexible with your time.

I am in a doctor of physical therapy program at MGH Institute. It is the 7th best physical therapy program in the country and the top in New England which means it is competitive but incredible at the same time to be learning from the leaders in the fields. We get experiences at the local hospitals and rehab centers including MGH, Brigham and Women's, and Spaulding rehab. Our hands on experiences are unmatched. Since we are a private school, my loans are currently totaling over $140,000 and increasing... Read More
