Michigan State University was an incredibly positive experience for me both academically and personally. Although it is a large university, I was able to find a strong sense of community through my classes, clubs, and student organizations. There are endless opportunities to get involved, meet new people, and build connections, which helped make such a big campus feel welcoming and supportive.

The campus itself is beautiful, especially in the fall, and there is always something happening, whether... Read More

Academically, I appreciated the wide variety of programs, research opportunities, and extracurricular experiences available to students. Many professors were knowledgeable and passionate about their fields, and there were numerous academic resources such as tutoring centers, advising services, career guidance, and study spaces that helped students succeed. I also felt that the university genuinely prioritizes student support and wellness through counseling services, health resources, and organizations focused on student well-being.

Despite the size of the campus, transportation was very manageable because of the reliable bus system, which made it easy to get to classes, housing, and different parts of East Lansing. The surrounding area also offers great restaurants, coffee shops, and student-friendly activities that contribute to the college experience.

Overall, Michigan State University provided me with not only a strong education, but also meaningful friendships, leadership opportunities, and a true sense of belonging. I would highly recommend MSU to students looking for a large university with strong school spirit, abundant opportunities, and a supportive campus environment.

Michigan State University was an outstanding experience. It is one of the top teaching colleges in the nation, and for good reason. I had awesome professors who invested in me, meaningful coursework, and great classmates with whom I made friends for life. The campus environment was a lot of fun, and I would recommend it to anyone.

My experience at MSU was exactly what I hoped it would be. It was my dream school before attending and is still my dream school now. The academics are great, the campus is beautiful, and East Lansing is ever growing. I joined a sorority while I was there, got to travel abroad for 6 months and completed two bachelor’s degrees in a standard four year admission. The school is full of endless possibility for all students.

The school wasn’t helpful in me finding a job in my field after graduation. I wasn’t well equipped in the job market. It’s also way too expensive for it to be worthwhile. I think if they charged less, used athletics money for their academic programs and were more intentional about supporting their graduates careers after graduation people would get more value out of the experience.

Michigan State University has a beautiful campus with lots of green space and a great atmosphere. The academics are solid, and in the BLD program the professors are very supportive and approachable, making classes engaging and helping students succeed.

I enjoyed that vast majority of my time at MSU. One of my critiques would be how some of the biology classes were organized, where you watch the lectures ahead of time and come in to complete the work. That set up is not productive for how I learn, I would have taken an online class if I wanted to try and learn everything through a video. I personally benefit more from in person lectures and learning.

Michigan State offered a well-rounded experience both academically and socially. The Psychology department had knowledgeable professors who were accessible outside of class. Campus resources like career services and counseling were helpful. Class sizes were manageable and allowed for good discussions. My only criticism is that some administrative processes felt disorganized. Overall, a solid choice for students looking for a balance of academics and campus life.

I really enjoyed my time at Michigan State University. I thought it was a great schoool. I dont think I used all the activities that the school provided completely to my advantage. I could have joined more clubs or particiapted in the school culture more. One thing that is good about MSU is the diversity. There are a lot of people of different backgrounds that attend there.

Michigan State University made me into the man that I am today. Without it, I would not have gone on to work as a consultant in Georgia, I would not have earned my Master's degree from Georgia Tech, and I definitely would not have gone on for a PhD at USC. It made me a more confident and understanding person who accepts everyone with open arms. And the campus is truly gorgeous. Some of my best friends today are those I met on campus!

It is also huge and will meet a variety of students from around the world. If you are looking to have a good time, this is the school to pick!

Degree: Communications

I went into Michigan State University for Communication Arts and Sciences. I feel like the "promises" were always made by teachers to network and get you connected in the right places, that if you put in all the best practices then you would be lifted into good jobs. In my personal opinion (and I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone), I was greatly disappointed. It was a good chance to explore many different topics, skill paths, etc. However, once all is said and done, post graduate assistance... Read More

Michigan State University was the best choice I could have made for myself. I loved the constant energy of being at a Big Ten school that focused both on athletics and education. It was important that I was an environment that was very social with things to do, but also centered on developing my education.

MSU is a great place to be and great student culture! No matter who you are, you will find your people there, and it's a great place to find a professor to be your mentor and learn from. I enjoyed so much of my years there, and the friends I made at MSU are some of the greatest people I've ever met. My professors helped me land a valuable career after graduation as well!

I owe my career success to everything at Michigan State University has taught me. It has the best in the country education regarding Packaging Science and because of the reputation of the program, I've had the chance to work with several large consumer goods companies. It provided me a great foundation in packaging knowledge and readied me for any packaging career right from graduation. Michigan State University is a college that taught me just what I needed to get my degree as quick as possible so I could get to my goals quickly. It does have many available routes and an active, fun culture around it which is nice but can make you forget about your academics. It is very much a university that will give you what you put in to it.

I loved my experience at MSU. I think it is a great school with a wide variety of opportunities. The people I met while there are still some of my best friends, and the things I learned in classes helped me get through medical school. The school balances good academics, good sports, and good people/social life. Would highly recommend people considering MSU to tour their campus; it is absolutely beautiful and amazing.

MSU offers a wide variety of courses and programs so it’s pretty easy to find out what you want to study. It is very big which has its pros and cons. There is a relatively diverse student body as well as a ton of resources available for students. However it is easy to get lost in the population meaning there are some very large classes and it may be harder to connect with professors.

I took the online Masters program in Pharmacology and Toxicoloy. The classes were self paced, but with a syllabus and schedule that you did need to follow. I felt less stress because I could do the course work on my own time, within the parameters of exams and due dates. I would recommend the program.

When I was choosing a college, I applied to and toured dozens of schools looking. When I stepped on to Michigan State's campus, I just felt something internally that made me realize maybe I did belong here. The vibes of campus, the level of education, and the supportive feeling were all things that kept me here through graduation. My biggest regret is not staying longer!
