I wouldn't tell anyone they should travel across the country to attend Missouri State, but for in-state students who want to attend a large college, it's a good choice. The tuition is affordable (relatively speaking), they offer a wide range of majors and programs, and I had some great professors while I was there. The school counseling program I attended is largely regarded as the best in the state.

MSU gives you an experience that's on-par with the basic "college experience". For those looking for that "typical" college experience, with a whole street dedicated to greek life, co-ed dorms, loud Thursday nights, community kitchens, international/foreign exchange cliques, traffic congestion around the campus, a downtown "clubbing" scene, and an ample selection of sports-related facilities, it fits the bill. However, if you're not a pro-social type of person, chances are you're going to suffer... Read More

Missouri State University offers many majors and class selections. I had many professors who helped me get a great education. The flexibility in class times was very helpful and allowed me to work while in school. There are many amenities and extra curricular events the school offers.

Missouri State University is a great place to get higher education at. I really enjoyed my time here. The classes I took where very informative and insightful. Great dorms on campus as well. I stayed in Wells House (Best House), it was a quiet dorm which is what I preferred being more introverted.

I love my school. It is a medium sized campus with lots do to throughout each semester. The faculty are great and I love everyone in my classes. I feel well equipped with knowledge for my upcoming transition into the workplace. This was my ideal college.

Overall, this is a great college to go to for business. It was the best 4 years of my life. The campus was filled with alot of like minded people and it was very easy going. Most of the proffessors cared alot about their students and their goals. Theres also alot of things to do in the town when not in classes.

I left the rating I did due to the utter lack of direction. From day one, this school provided no guide on how college life works. I was a first generation student and was basically thrown to the wolves. The advisors do not help you, the financial department does not help you, and the ras are a joke. Greek life is a bunch of bullies, and they will drop you from classes if you miss due to deaths in the family. I could not rate this school worse. Be ware.

After being graduated for 7 years I feel confident that this institution has quite literally nothing to offer anyone. Tossing aside the fact that if you are currently young your degree will be totally worthless (guaranteed) to any prospective employer due to your lack of experience, this institution itself let me down at every stage of my schooling process. This began with my advisor for the entire science department stating on day one that there was no possible way to finish a bachelors of science... Read More

I was very disappointed in my experience getting my masters as it felt like a step down from my undergraduate program. The professors never respond, won’t show to meetings, do not give appropriate information, I felt infantilized by many professors, asked if I want a grandpa by a male professor who re-enacted an abuse I wrote about in a paper. I’m not sure who to hold accountable to show up and do their job or to treat people like human beings, and to take concerns seriously instead of continuing... Read More

The departments do not communicate well. I don’t know if they’re still adjusting but it feels disorganized and a little chaotic. It feels really stressful when you have to keep up with their adjustments and late announcements/notices alongside your studies. Do not feel comfortable and safe with all professors, but you can get this anywhere. There are a lot of other little disappointments that just accumulate and make it feel worse.

Simply one of the best choices for an MBA. AACSB-accredited, solid class learning, flexible degree path, military-friendly, and low cost [with no higher charge for out-of-state online tuition]. What's not to like? The professors here are better at teaching than those at my $50,000 private undergraduate university. Don't get suckered by high-cost university marketing elsewhere; go to Missouri State. Disclaimer: You get out what you put in; no free rides here. Most of the classes deliver solid knowledge... Had to withdrawal from Spring 2020 courses due to an illness that spread throughout this household in late January and early February 2020. Come to find out it was Covid-19. Presented proof of this as an appeal per their process to the Refund Exception Committee to the $900+ they still had on my account. Denied. They want money from those who were justly incapable of keeping up with their courses despite offering evidence.

Personally, I thought the business programs at MSU were exceptional. The university invests a lot of money into Glass Hall and business programs. The career center and career fairs are great tools for a post-grad job search. I would like to maybe see some change in staff. Professors are helpful and nice, but I think some professors could be upgraded. Overall, phenomenal school for the money. Smaller but very nice campus. Rec. center is super nice! Go bears!

I went through several feats with this school for three years. Encountered many health issues and they wanted all sorts of evidence for the waivers I needed. The psych program is full of teachings from non African American Psychologists so the program is a waste of time unless your`e going to become a MSW or PSyD. Financial services are crazy! So pricey , even just for online. They have much pride in their football than the learning of their students; all about money. Some of my psych professors... Read More

LOW CLASS, AWFUL FACULTY, and SEXISM EVERYWHERE AT MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY. I strongly do not recommend!!!! They were so uneducated, the faculty. The books were out dated. It was as if someone took me backwards in time to the dark ages then forced me to poverty after I paid. The worst. What a rip off that I ever went to this college. Hateful people.

The teacher education program at Missouri State University is the best in the state. The school advertises this, and they do not lie. I was more prepared for student teaching than other students from surrounding schools. The professors are of high quality and now how to teach. The practices are up to date. I was able to quickly find a job at a high-quality school district. If you want to be a teacher in any area, there is not a better school in the state. Missouri State is a big university with that... What was Southwest Missouri State University (SMSU) has now become Missouri State University (MSU) because it has grown so much. I am so proud of my Alma Mater. It was an excellent experience being in a Sorority, working for he radio station, teaching aerobics and being involved in Gospel and SMSU Choir. Get involved, make yourself known and do not be afraid to ask for help with anything and everything, it is your future!

I strongly do not recommend. Horrid faculty. Low class poor. What a rip off from larger more organized college. The faculty complain that they are being ripped off and try to pick up the students. Sexual harassing. All about the bible when I was studying science.

The College of Natural and Applied Sciences of Missouri State University offered me a wonderful foundation. My courses within my degree program were taught by knowledgeable, personable professors. My adviser was not the most helpful unfortunately but I don't believe she is with the college any longer. Otherwise, great program and a great value!
