I am halfway through the Doctor of Ministry program at Moody and have given it more time than it deserves. I am looking to finish the degree somewhere else. Put bluntly, the online courses at Moody are of shockingly low quality.
In each course, the textbooks had little to do with the assignments and class discussions. Most assignments were short papers that felt like busy work and not the quality of research I would have expected in a graduate or doctoral program. The courses felt half-baked, as if... Read More
I took online courses in seminary and college that were great, and I wrongly assumed Moody's would be of a similar quality. For a school that pushes online education, Moody’s online DMin program is unacceptable and needs serious improvement.

Terrible communication from the school. They make changes but those are not communicated or poorly communicated. The financial aid department is a mess. Every single semester my financial aid information was incorrect and it was impossible to get ahold of them. I also worked for the school and one time I went over and they just had the phones off the hook so the calls wouldn’t come through. Additionally one semester financial aid literally did not disperse at all and they sent an email out saying... Read More

Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary represent a wonderful place where growth takes place inside and outside the classroom. One of the most impactful experiences consists of being part of a great multicultural community of students, and seeing the God and the world through so many eyes from all the continents. The professors are high quality and both their teaching and their friendliness are life-transforming. Most importantly, I believe God is honored through the academic and ministry-oriented... This school is excellent for an education in ministry or the Bible. They are highly accredited and respected by many. I got a one year degree in Biblical Studies. It got me into ministry at some churches. But there are many Christians and churches that have no clue who DL moody was. Christians in churches have laughed and called it a fake college because it has the name moody in it. Family has also called it a fake college because the name moody. Employers other than churches also think it's fake... Read More

The Moody Bible Institute is a great institution where you are challenged to think Biblically. I highly recommend Moody Bible Institute to any student who is looking for a school where they can grow as a believer and learn how to apply the Bible to life.

Moody Bible Institute is great for those who are conservative Christians pursuing a future in ministry. The International Ministries degree specifically prepares students for cross-cultural relations, challenges, and ministry. The professors not only have knowledge, but experience in this field. If you plan to do this for your life-long career and do not have a value to earn a high salary, I would recommend this degree. If there is a possibility that you may branch out beyond this field at any point,... Read More

I have had a great time with my studies so far at Moody. I feel like it is a great school. The only thing that they need to improve is the workload. I understand that it is a graduate degree program, but most students are full time workers as well so the work load for classes seems to be way to much.

The professors, faculty, and staff are extremely qualified and dedicated to our education. They are more than willing to share their experiences and knowledge with the students so that we are able to gain better understanding what it's like in the field. The administration has also been more than willing to work with individual students to figure out financial aid each semester. Each semester, I have received a generous amount of aid so I can afford both the time and money to attend classes. The... Read More

The Master's programs at Moody Theological Seminary are wonderful preparation for Christian ministry and the mission field. The education is excellent and the doctrine is quite sound. One con of the program, specifically the online classes via Distance Learning, is that it seems more difficult to learn (at least for me) since you are not in a standard classroom setting with a hands-on opportunity.

The biggest challenge is financial: the school does not participate in federal loan programs. Outside of that, this is a great campus with great professors and an excellent network of followers of Jesus. Each staff and faculty member exhibits the school's ethics and values, and it is a great atmosphere!

I truly enjoy the graduate program at Moody Theological Seminary, especially the in-depth education within the Spiritual Formation and Discipleship program about God's character. My professors are superb because they sincerely care about and love their students, practice what they preach, and are always willing to talk and pray with us individually. One thing that can be difficult about being at MTS is getting involved in the community; in order to do so, one must study with colleagues so that education... Read More
