I would not recommend this program to anyone. When I first inquired about the program, it was a work independently online style. This was ideal as I worked multiple jobs and needed a program I could work at my own pace, being mindful of weekly deadlines. Once I started, we had mandatory class meetings which I did not find out about until 3-4 days prior to starting each class every month. Read More I have received no supervision during my internship nor help obtaining placement at sites. Each teacher demands different APA competencies and the program is not consistent with the grading style. For the masters classes after internship, you are required to pick a subject in which you will research and collect data on. You have little guidance and must select a topic during the first week. My research classes were scheduled over summer- a time when I would not have access to students for research. When presenting this obstacle to the professor, they suggested extending our program time several months to have access to students. Why wouldnt this be the structure of the program to begin with? The program lacks cohesiveness and provides little to no support for students who ask. It requires students to be strong independent learners, have an open schedule, and are fully aware that they wont get their class meeting schedule until days before. If the program made these crucial components known before applying, I believe students would be more successful and less overwhelmed with constantly trying to adjust. I personally would not have selected this program knowing these details. Not to mention the financial aid phone number has never worked and it takes days to get a reply.
