Take advantage of all the opportunities. Choose a program that allows for internships, as they will give you some of the most valuable part of your education. Internships give you the opportunity to apply all you have learned in a safe environment.

The courses are not intellectually challenging. The tuition is reasonable for in state.

I feel that the program is awesome. The only downfall is that the Albuquerque campus is removed from the main campus and makes dealing with the offices on main campus (library and Financial Aid) a little bit difficult. Professors are awesome. It is a fairly intense program and a great deal of work, but well worth it.

It is actually a satelite program. It makes access to main campus convenieces a little bit harder. It is by far the best social work programs in the area

The MSW program at New Mexico State University is a great program. Professors are very supportive and accessible. The work required for the program can be overwhelming at times especially for those who have full time jobs. However, NMSU offers part time, full time and advanced standing programs to cater to students needs. Academically speaking, NMSU has very distinguished faculty, and the quality of instruction you get here, is comparable to neighboring universities.

The pros of graduate school are being able to advance in a career. You are also given an opportunity to network more. The graduate program is intensified, so there is more of an opportunity to learn hands on. The only con of graduate school is financial aid. I had a very hard time finding programs that gave money to graduate students versus undergraduates.
