NYU is great for scholastic endeavors and being in an environment that's great for networking and future projections. My only concern was lack of support when I was struggling to get through the semester and the immediate drop in response after I submitted a leave of absence notice. I wish they were more diligent in that experience, otherwise the school offers a wide range of opportunities thats great for students.

As a first-generation college student from a rural–suburban area, NYU gave me the invaluable experience of an aspirational college experience among students from elite families and backgrounds, giving me goals I hadn’t known I had. It gives you the mindset to forge your best path

Degree: MBA in Finance
My experience in NYU’s MBA in Finance program was positive. Strong academics and industry-experienced professors stood out, and the NYC location offers great career opportunities. The program is expensive and networking requires initiative, but overall it had a positive impact on my career and I would recommend it.

Degree: Computer and Information Science
My experience was good overall. The online format made studying more flexible. The courses helped me build a stronger foundation in computer and information sciences. Some classes required more self discipline, but the academic quality was solid. I would recommend the school to students who want a flexible learning option.

Though I struggled socially at NYU during covid, I do think the school has great academics and better opportunities/events than in the past. I had a few bad egg professors, but most were generally knowledgeable and passed down great information for me to use. Networking can either be really easy or quite difficult depending on how social you are.
The whole 'no campus' thing can also get a bit annoying, especially with the surrounding area. Strangers approaching you randomly for donations to organizations... Read More
Food was pretty meh, but certain dorms provide kitchens and groceries are always nearby. If you are introverted like me, you'll need to learn how to get out of your box in order to make connections. Overall, I'd give it a 5/10.

Degree: Linguistics and Language Studies
I studied Language and Mind at NYU, with minors in Chemistry and in Molecular and Cell Biology. I also completed the pre-health curriculum, and the Liberal Studies Core Program. The liberal studies courses were easy but very informative and well-rounded, and the science and linguistics courses were rigorous.

NYU is awesome! I loved being in the city during college. I was able to study and experience life in the city simultaneously. The school has the best professors and research opportunities. It was my gateway to internships as well as the start of my career.

I would not recommend attending NYU unless you have sufficient financial aid or a full scholarship. The prestige of the name when it comes to arts education is not aligned with the academics experience. Requirements built in for first year students are unnecessary and it only spirals from there.

I greatly enjoyed my time at NYU! It was a wonderful experience to attend the Stern School of Business, and it taught me a lot about both myself and the business world. I was able to gain valuable internship experiences at companies in the beauty, media, and tech industries thanks to the amazing NYU alumni network, which contributed to me being able to land a full-time job in my field of study less than six months after graduation. I also made the most wonderful friends on campus who I still spend... Read More

NYU offers good quality education. Though it's quite expensive but if you can get scholarships then the degree is worth your time and money. I would suggest having a very good cgpa when you graduate because it shows others that you are committed to your academics.

I enjoyed my time at NYU. I spent most of the last two years in the midst of COVID, so I had an unconventional experience, but it was an overall positive one regardless. The curriculum was comprehensive, and every class made me feel meaningfully more educated on the topic.

I studied Sales and Marketing at New York University, and the experience significantly shaped my understanding of the modern business environment. The program was well structured and covered a wide range of important topics, including consumer behavior, digital marketing strategies, brand development, market research, and sales management. NYU was a good experience for me overall, but it's definitely not a traditional campus school. Living and learning in New York City requires independence and self-motivation. Academics were solid but varied by class and professor. The biggest value was access to real-world opportunities, internships, and personal growth that came from navigating the city on my own.

I moved to New York to attend school. I was very excited to do so, I had a lot a dreams about what school would be like. It hasn't been a single one of those things. I thought that I would feel like I'm apart of a community, that I would meet cool people and professors and learn something that I wouldn't have learned at a school from my home state. Instead I feel isolated, the people here are all weird and there are so many professors there isn't a chance for community to form. Moving to New York... Read More

When I think back to my time at NYU as a Political Science major, class of 2017, what stands out most isn’t one single class or professor—it’s the feeling of constantly being just a little overwhelmed, a little inspired, and a little more awake to the world than I was the year before.
NYU didn’t hand me a neatly packaged “college experience.” There were no quads, no football games, no sense that the university existed separately from the rest of life. Instead, campus was the city. I used to joke with... Read More

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at NYU and all the experiences I got to have as a student. Both due to my lack of interest and the major, I do think I missed out on more academic growth and opportunities. However, it did set the base for my career now, as well as the base of all my social interactions and belonging in a new city. I would not be the person I am today if I didn't go to NYU, so it is a choice I have not regretted.

NYU is an extremely fun school to attend but provides almost no support for students when it comes to recruiting for jobs if you're not in the business school. Job fairs do not have big companies, instead being filled with random startups and small businesses

The environment was hostile and adversarial. I was disappointed by the number of students and professors who engaged in gossiping, smearing others, not working well together (not sharing work or credit), etc. There were clear favorites (usually the sycophants and charmers). Most of the students are from 1 country/region (not the U.S.) and unfortunately a lot of them have an "us vs. them" mentality. At least the courses were challenging and interesting, although the program cannot teach you everything... Read More
