The counselors there did a great job of helping me form a plan to finish with a degree after i took some time away. The classes i took online were enjoyable and informative. One of my favorites was one that i got to take was a political philosophy course in my last semester. i can’t remember the professors name, but i hope he’s still teaching the course because he was always very helpful and you could tell he was really passionate about the subject matter.

Nicholls State University is a great local state school. I enjoyed my time at Nicholls. Looking back the academic education was steller. I appreciated being able to attend a univesity so close to home that was financialy affordable. I enjoyed campus life and was involved in many different clubs. It was truly a great time in my life that I wish I could do over again.

The education program at Nicholls State University was a great experience in helping me grow into a confident teacher. Middle school can be a tough age to teach, and NSU prepared me for everything I needed to begin my journey. The professors were helpful, the classmates became family, and my advisor was always easy to reach.

Nicholls State University is very student oriented. Throughout my time here, I never had a problem with professors or administration. They are all very eager to help you succeed. I have also built many professional relationships with faculty and staff alike. My advisor was very, very helpful in getting me to my education goals. Because of her, I have two degrees and five minors. Nicholls is a great place to attend. It is big enough to include everything they need, but also small enough so that an... Read More

The education program at Nicholls State University truly prepared me for life outside of college. It allowed me to see exactly what it would be like to be a teacher in the real-world because of the amount of hands-on experience you receive. I also loved how I was not a mere number on my campus, but I was a student with hopes and dreams. Advisors will be able to connect with you which truly helped me in the long run.

Nicholls State University is a marvelous university set in the small college town of Thibodaux, LA. It's not the biggest or brightest school you'll encounter, but it more than makes up for it in the sheer heart of the faculty and students who are here. They are an inspiring group who have acted as a second family to me. My experience here has been some of the best of my life. I couldn't have been happier elsewhere.

I chose to attend this university due to the scholarship opportunities they offered. This ended up being the best decision I could have made. I loved that everyone within the department knew who you were, even if they didn't teach you. The professors went out of their way to help you with anything needed. I can't say enough about the amazing faculty and staff.

Degree: Sociology

Nicholls State is a small university located in Thibodaux Louisiana. Classes are small, professors know you by name, and all faculty and staff work to the best of their ability to help develop professional beings. I was apart of the Sociology program as an undergraduate student. The professors in the department not only taught about the field of social services, but they also taught life skills. It was stressed that one can not be effective until taking care of ones self. Today, I am a Master level... Read More

Nicholls State is a great place. The class sizes are around 30 for general ed courses which means that most students get to know their instructors. That in turn helps the students achieve better results because they have better communication with the instructors.

Nicholls State University is a great program with small classes. The program is a consortium that is involved with Lafayette and Northwestern. I love that the classes are small so teachers can focus more on the students. I also enjoy the online aspect of the course so I can work full time and go to school. Clinical hours however is very long but well worth it!

I loved my college experience at Nicholls State University! All of my professors, although I may have not cared for their teaching methods or personality or even enjoy the class (think two-hour Intro to Economics class at 6 p.m.), were all well-versed in their fields. I did not have a single class, where the professor and/or teacher's assistants did not know above and beyond the information being taught. My program, Culinary Arts, was a wonderful experience and had a vast variety of teacher's from... Read More

Nicholls is an awesome school to get your MBA. It's not only top rated, but the professors are there to help you in any way he/she can. The classes aren't too big where you can't the personal experience that's necessary to succeed in the program. I would not have wanted to attend any other school.

Nicholls State University offers an excellent Culinary Arts program which allows students to graduate with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Culinary Arts. Students take all basic college entry level courses their first three years in addition to required culinary courses. Students are required to participate in two paid externship. The first externship can be completed during students' sophomore year and the second during the end of students' junior year. The program is very intense and requires... Read More

My college was a complete waste of time. Everything I learned at my internships was laughed at by professors and everything I learned at school was laughed at by my employer once I graduated. I wish I would have gotten a 2 year degree and have been done with it.

Nicholls State University has an excellent faculty. Class sizes are moderate. You will love the campus atmosphere. The professors will work with you and help you strengthen your strengths and improve your weaknesses. They will help to you to explore different avenues for careers that you may not have considered. Advisers are readily available to help you, even if you want to change majors. Campus events are fun and often family oriented -- with a small town feel, with a Big Cajun food and fun.

My experience at Nicholls State Univeristy was great. It is the perfect size school, where you feel at home and comfortable talking to your professors. My particular degree, art education, was not one with many students enrolled, so the support for being in two colleges was not always there, but overall a great experience.

This Graduate program truly understands the life of the working adult. The Program is specifically kept small and designed in a way that maximizes time and effort of all individuals within. The Faculty provides real life examples and assigns case studies that one would find at HBS. The drawback may be the length of time in one single sitting. The 8 hour day every other weekend set up is very nice and convenient but is also draining. I overall and wholeheartedly advocate for this program.
