MPA program had a great support structure and department chair that were available to talk and advise whenever needed. Classes were great and faculty were responsive. Faculty were very knowledgeable. Good mix of working adult students and students that just graduated from 4-year programs.

The program itself is great. Small classes encourage discussion type lectures and personal interaction with professors. Group projects facilitate discussion between students that are using the Public Administration program to work toward similar goals. The worst part of North Carolina State University is the parking. Attempting to visit office buildings or come to campus during daytime hours without the proper permit has proven quite difficult.

The program is great because it is right in the epicenter of the state government, which is great for a PA program. The professors are engaging and helpful with any assistance a student needs. The only con is that there are many excellent universities in the area so you have to chose the one that is right for you!

The program provides a strong foundation to prepare students to become effective practitioners in public service and non-profit organizations as well. As with social science programs, in most areas, the amount of financial aid is limited.

The program does an excellent job preparing future leaders to solve the current problems in governmental service as well as the non-profit arena. A con would be the very limited amount of financial assistance in the form of assistantships, grants, and scholarships.

Great program for working individuals, most classes after 4:00, and workload is not too difficult. Traditional MPA program, nothing super spectacular. Very nice faculty, but a few are out of date with current technology and issues.

Comptency exams are required and the program could do a better job at promoting diversity. However, the program is excellent when it comes to matching students with internships and mentors related to field of interest.

MPA program staff do a good job of matching your plan of study to your interests and responding to requests for certain courses. Also, NCSU provides lot of opportunities to meet alumni working in your field so you can start networking asap.
