Graduating from Northeastern University was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My experience there was incredibly rewarding both academically and personally. The university’s co-op program truly sets it apart from other schools. Through hands-on work experiences, I was able to gain real-world skills, build professional connections, and graduate with confidence entering the job market. By the time I finished my degree, I already had valuable industry experience that gave me a strong advantage... Read More

The professors at Northeastern were knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in student success. Many brought real industry experience into the classroom, which made learning practical and engaging. I also appreciated how diverse and welcoming the student community was. I met people from all over the world, and the collaborative environment made it easy to form lasting friendships and professional networks.

The campus itself is beautiful, modern, and located in the heart of Boston, which provided endless opportunities for internships, networking, entertainment, and cultural experiences. There was always something happening on campus, from student organizations to career events and community activities.

What I value most about Northeastern is how well it prepares students for life after graduation. I left not only with a strong education, but also with confidence, experience, and lifelong memories. I would highly recommend Northeastern University to anyone looking for a university that combines academic excellence with real-world preparation.

Northeastern University is the best place to be as student. I enjoyed my student life because it was not overwhelming and the clubs are amazing. The university stands out so well in how it blends the academics and the real-world . The professors are knowledgeable and care so much about the students. I highly recommend students to join.

Northeastern University is a unique institution. The integration and championing of the Co-Op Program comes with significant benefits to both the academic and career opportunities of the students that utilize it. It cannot be understated how much of an impact graduating with 1.5 years of full-time work experience has on a student's career prospects, and the ability to apply what they learn in the classroom directly in their co-ops helps truly learn the instruction they are given. At the same time,... Read More

Northeastern is a fantastic school that focuses on career development. Through the co-op programs, I was able to easily get prestigious experiences at companies that potentially would have been out of my reach if I was applying as a normal summer internship, like most other college students. If you want to have a fast-track to an excellent career, I would recommend Northeastern.

Khoury College academics are brutal. Passing core security classes often means fighting for a C+. The massive workload is completely draining, hence the low experience rating. However, the hands-on technical skills you gain in Python, GDB, and penetration testing are exactly what the industry demands. Thanks to great TAs and professors, you leave fully prepared. Highly recommended for career impact.

The classroom circus was lacking and poor oversight from the department heads. However, the local clinical rotations provided valuable experience that was able to be carried through to my career. Another big benefit was simply the school’s reputation. I have found patients and employers have a positive view of the school which has provided opportunities.

Northeastern's co-op program is the primary reason that it's a quality school. This really does prepare you for real life and helped me and many others get careers after college from connections we'd made during our co-ops. If you're not interested in co-oping or want to have every summer off, Northeastern isn't for you.

I'll say -- this school isn't worth the loans for how expensive it is. You can get a comparable education for less. If you don't get scholarships, it's not worth it.

Northeastern was a fun and engaging university to attend. The students were wonderful people and highly insightful. The faculty was largely the same, with s handful that seemed to be mailing it in. The facilities were in decent shape with a mixture of brand new and run down buildings. There was too much of a focus in international student body growth at the detriment of well spent resources.

It was a great school in the heart of the city. It seems to be growing bigger and better each year. The co-op program is a great way to help get experience while also making rent money. The only downside would be the cost of living/cost of tuition but it definitely was a good experience.

Degree: Criminology

I completed my PhD in Criminology and Justice Policy at Northeastern University after starting the program in 2017 and graduating in 2024. Overall, my experience was very positive, particularly because of the program’s strong emphasis on rigorous research, applied scholarship, and faculty mentorship. Faculty members were highly engaged and supportive, especially in guiding students through publishing, grant writing, and professional development for academic and policy-oriented careers. The department... Read More

I attended Northeastern University for the undergraduate program in Music Business. It was a great experience, though the program itself could not keep up with the changes in the music business. Many professors offered knowledge that was dated, and would have been best articulated by guest professionals who worked in more cutting-edge industries. I would highly recommend music business majors in the future to double major in marketing.

Northeastern is a coop school, meaning you get a chance to work full time alongside the time you spend on your coursework. This let me try out a few different fields of work before graduation and adjust my coursework to reflect what interested me most

Very good academics for the MBA program. You have a lot of options for classes to take, and the curriculum is broad enough that you'll get a good experience for just about every field in through the general ed classes you need to take (accounting, finance, supply chain, etc.). Professors are often professionals who are either in the field or have a lot of experience so you get real world applications every time. Tuition is on the steep side, but you're paying for quality.

I loved every second I spent at Northeastern University. The admissions process was smooth and painless. There were very helpful admission staff who helped walk me through the process. My advisors were always super informative and insightful, ensuring that I would take the classes I needed. The campus environment is top notch. And the professors, and the education I received from those professors, was second to none.

The school accepts anyone and everyone, this leads to classes full of people who just needed visas, work permissions or a way to get into the States. If someone is serious about networking and having classmates who are genuine about their learning, this is not worth at all. The school cares mostly about the expansion of campuses in different states rather than focusing on their admissions of worthy students.

Steer clear of this MS Econ with a data science concentration in Seattle. Academic advising has been non existent. Leaving after 1 semester, it has been a costly mistake. This program looks great on paper, in actuality, the data science courses are not readily available for students because of the high demand, econ electives do not exists. I made it through about 2 semesters of the ABSN program before withdrawing and attending a different nursing program. What a day and night difference. The online MBA program at Northeastern is largely designed the same way the in-person classes are designed - heavily focused on group projects. As is typical of Northeastern, the instruction is poor, explanations are insufficient, and grading is harsh. The online classes are supposed to be asynchronous, but there is significant pressure from the individuals doing grading (who somehow are not the course professors?) to attend multiple weekly meetings that are effectively useless and do nothing to... Northeastern University’s acute care program is extremely poorly run, disorganized and lacking in clear, concise communication. I attended this program for a year and a half and while the classes themselves were fine, the program’s administrators were lacking. The director at the time (who has since been fired) was very challenging to get into contact with and seemed to know very little about the program she was in charge of.
