When I entered my master’s program, I knew that I had to take a trip to Athens, Ohio for a weekend as part of the curriculum. I was taken by surprise at how old and beautiful the campus is. It was clean and attractive, seemingly built on an endless supply of small hills. The buildings were all brick and the sidewalks were tree lined. It just felt like a small college town atmosphere and that it was something I missed because I went to a community college. I feel like I really missed out on that overall experience. I was never able to afford to go to a school like this, until I became an adult and especially since my department offered tuition reimbursement. Otherwise, this school would’ve been out of my financial reach. I am grateful to Ohio university for the opportunity to study online, but equally grateful that they made us come to the campus. I have sent you my degree in my everyday life as I have opened up a baseball and softball Academy my degree in sports coaching falls right into my business. Overall, my experience with Ohio University was extremely positive, and I would do it again given the same circumstances. If I were going to apply for a doctorate program, the first place that I would apply is Ohio university, in the hopes that they would require us to come to their campus at at least once.

Ohio University was a wonderful place to go to college. I met some of my lifelong friends there and had many experiences that I will never forget. The academics were very good, your first year you’re in a lot of larger lecture halls but once you get passed all the general classes the classes become smaller and you’re able to have more one on one time with professors if needed. I would recommend Ohio University to anyone, the social aspect, the academics, it feels like a home away from home for me.... I have always said that college is 30% what you learn in the classroom and 70% what you learn outside the classroom. I believe that my education captured that balance just right. I believe that the students i went to school with taught me just as much as the classes. I did not know that I would be attending Ohio University when I went for my first visit of the campus. There were five schools in Ohio that had the major I originally wanted to pursue. As soon as I stepped foot on the campus I fell in love. I didn't want to be so far from home, but something in my brain told me I needed to go there. It did not disappoint! I made so many talented friends and made so many great memories. The professors and classes were incredible and I always felt that I was not lost... Read More in a sea of students. The buildings are beautiful and the whole campus is easy to walk around. I felt so safe the entire time I attended. My only complaint was that I completed my four year degree in three years and was unable to enjoy another year there. I highly highly highly recommend attending Ohio University no matter what you'd like to study.

Attending Ohio University was truly one of the most impactful experiences of my life. As a Studio Art major with a focus on Graphic Design, OU gave me every opportunity to grow creatively and professionally. The faculty in the art and design programs genuinely care about their students — they push you to experiment, think differently, and develop a strong creative voice. I left with skills and confidence that directly shaped my career in digital design and marketing.

My time at Ohio University has been great. It really feels to have gone by quicker than it should. There is always something to do and a lot to get involved in (over 550 student organizations). The professors, TA's, and advisors/staff of the College of Arts and Sciences, and everyone across the University is rooting for your success. Ohio University prepared me to become the successful graduate student I am today. They have countless outreach programs for students needing assistance with career development, tutoring, or mental health resources. Ohio University in my opinion is the best school. From the culture, to the academics, to the family you create, it was the best decision for me. Read More I was unaware of issues around the world and was uneducated in many realms, but through my professors I gained a knowledge about the individual, needs of others that are different than me, and about others who may not have a voice. I learned how to help others in a clinical setting and in the right ways that will benefit the individual. I was opened to diversity, which was probably the most important thing. I gained a more academic knowledge of how to conduct research and discuss it. I learned more about volunteering and giving up your time for another person. I also had many different communities at Ohio University, each of which taught me something about others and myself. If I did not go to Ohio University, I would not be the person I am today.

I highly recommend Ohio University's special education program to anyone looking to pursue a career as an intervention specialist. From my first day of classes, my professors were dedicated, passionate and inspiring. I began classroom placements my sophomore year, much earlier than other universities. By the time I graduated, I had observed and taught lessons in 5 different schools, ranging from inner-city urban to rural populations. My field-experience professors came to observe me teach and provided incredible guidance to help me grow as an educator. I built relationships with both my professors and collaborating teachers while student teaching that I have maintained three years later! I received a job offer for a highly-rated school in Columbus, Ohio in March of my senior year. Upon graduating, I felt confident in my education and extremely prepared to begin teaching. Ohio University got me started on the right path! I really enjoyed the campus. I grew up in a small town, but adjusting to the somewhat larger Athens was easy. There is plenty of nature at almost every point of not just the campus, but also the town itself. Downtown and the campus are very walk-able. I experienced living both on and off campus and enjoyed both. If you live off campus, you should invest in a car for the most convenience. It may not be the best campus for people with disabilities because... Read More of the terrain of the city, but I knew several other students who were able to take advantage of campus transportation and modifications that have been made to the campus since I graduated have helped solve some of the problems others were having.

The MBA program at Ohio University (OU) has been very challenging, fair and rewarding. The school offers multiple opportunities to visit campus and interact with peers and professionals alike for networking on free weekend events. Working full time, operating a small farm, and raising a large family all present many opportunities, so the online program at OU has been a blessing to my busy schedule.
