Great program while working! I was able to set aside school from work without feeling drained or overwhelmed. This program came with a lot of educated professors who were experienced in the course subject. I appreciated the faith based background and how faith was incorporated with the academics. I absolutely loved the hybrid option, but still met in person. I have made lifelong friends and connections from this program.

Communication between staff and students at the school of education is awful! The staff turn over rate is abysmal. No wonder no one ever has a clue what is going on! In my two years at a student in their graduate education program it’s been one major issue on their part after another. Completely unprofessional.

My experience at PLNU was incredibly formative. PLNU not only cares about your academic experience, but also about your spiritual, emotional, and mental growth. Our small classes allowed my major professors to invest in me, taking time to talk through new concepts and ideas, hard questions, and the vast changes in life that come from being in college. I not only learned specific skills from my classes but truly believe I learned how to become a better human. In addition to my education, the relationships... Read More

I was seeking an opportunity to grow professionally in the field I am in now. PLNU offers the opportunity to become a leader, work in diverse communities and manage organization with sharpened skills. Advisors, staff and professors care about your professional development and are always willing to answer any questions.

PLNU is an amazing school. It's big enough to be a recognized name, yet classes are personal and instructors know your name. The kinesiology program, specifically, is great if your already working in the field, classes are on-line or late enough in the day that you can work your typical job around your class schedule. I wouldn't hesitate doing another degree here.

Aside from it's scenic beauty, Point Loma offers students a fantastic academic experience in a tight knit community. In my four years, I made quality friends and mentors who have greatly impacted how I see and think about the world. I recall sitting in the cafe on a weekly basis with Dr. Smith, my New testament professor, and asking him questions about life, playing dorm room pranks on fellow class mates, and sitting at sunset cliffs taking in the beauty of the sunset over the ocean. One of the really... Read More

Point Loma's new Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling is a great new addition to its growing options in graduate studies. The small cohort sizes provide you with the opportunity to get to know your classmates and your professors and allow for a productive and safe environment for discussion. I feel like I am constantly learning applicable and relevant information that will aid me in my future career as a counselor.

The staff is also incredibly helpful and truly care about the success of their students. The PLNU campus is safe, has a gorgeous view of the ocean, and is supportive with plenty of activities. If you have been considering your MS in Biology, you will not regret this program.

The professors here are awesome! The classes I took for my masters program were difficult but had the help of many students and professors. Everyone I met from this school from other students to workers in the library were all great people. I highly recommend this school.

Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) accelerate master's program under the Kinesiology program was insightful. I was able to learn at a faster pace with a very diverse group of students. It was a great hybrid experience for those students with a family and a job. At the end of the program, you are able to choose to complete a capstone project, thesis, or complete a comprehensive exam as a final. This is definitely a place to think about attending because of the length and networking experience.

As a mid year transfer student coming into my junior year at Point Loma Nazarene University, I found the transition to be difficult as there wasn't an already established and concrete way of me to get to know others in my class. As I began taking more classes within my psychology degree, I found a connection with students who enjoyed the same subject that I did. This helped to create an atmosphere that pushed me to want to continue my education at PLNU.

The Literatures, Journalism, and Modern Languages Department was excellent and enriching. All of the classes were small which allowed for thought provoking discussions. The professors were phenomenal and truly cared for the students. They all had a strong passion for their area of study and they transmitted it to the students in the ways they taught the courses. The best part of my experience was the Study Abroad program in London hosted by the LJML department and directed by Dr. Winderl. I have... Read More

Small and dedicated university that has great professors and staff. The location obviously is on a beach/cliff side and an amazing view, which doesn't get old and is always refreshing. The campus is great the students and staff are very nice and work very collaboratively so you're not left alone to fend for yourself. However, coming in keep note of your first 2 years as vital, keep up the good work and keep your eye out for challenges and solutions. Also keep in mind the professors are there to help... Read More

I attend a school where all of the faculty knows my name and all the services are easily accessible to me. The only negative comment that I have only has to do with the cost of earning an education at this university at a graduate level. It costs nearly $560 a unit to attend school, which adds up very quickly. While it is a quality education, the debt that accrues is stressful to manage.

The type of experience you have in college is completely up to you. Even at a Christian college, one must choose friends wisely--choose friends who value you for you, who care for you enough to help you grow into a better person, who encourage and motivate you to succeed. The value you receive from the school is also up to you. The professors at PLNU are gold. Not only are they academically invigorating, but they care for their students, and provide a wealth of knowledge and wisdom if you seek it... Read More
