Poor financial aid counseling!!! I wanted to withdraw early and save my financial aid for another program with another school (nothing personal, just didn't like what I was studying). I attended on term, then applied to another school and plan to start in January 2026. I was planning to attend the full second term before leaving Purdue, but after discussing my plan with their financial aid department decided to withdraw earlier than expected (3 weeks into my second term) so I only had to pay a prorated... Read More amount of tuition. The financial aid counselor assisting me said that since my financial aid had already been dispersed to me, I would just need to work with the lender (Mohela). Purdue financial aid department said I would only owe Purdue the prorated amount of tuition (~$493). I asked what would happen with my the rest of my financial aid, they said since it was already dispersed to me, the money was mine and I would pay it off through Mohela - so I had planned to put it toward my new program starting in January - which requires a "Graduate Plus" loan because it's more expensive (you get what you pay for). I made sure to ask again, as I didn't want to screw up my financial aid for the future, they assured me I would only owe them $493. That's what they said, but what they did is the opposite. They instead sent my entire financial aid for the term back to the DOE, and are charging me for the amount that was dispersed for me plus the $493. They did not properly counsel me - they should have said that the entire financial aid amount would need to be sent back unless I had completed 60% of the term. I would have remained and finished out the term if they would have given me proper counseling. Now, I owe them over $3800, and the money I planned to apply to my future program has to go to Purdue. I'm extremely disappointed with the financial aid counseling I received - they did not know what they were doing when I was asking them about withdrawing 3 weeks into the term, I would have stayed at least another 3 weeks to meet the 60% threshold to not have my financial aid returned to the DoE. My recommendation is to stay away for Purdue Global, they are nothing but a degree factory with poor quality financial aid counseling.

I just wanted to send a heads up to enrolled students requiring financial aid verification. If you have to verify multiple student aid years be careful the documents are identical and when you mail the original documents to the school send them in separate envelopes. Somewhere on the form in front of the notary or on the envelope be sure to write the aid year. When I saw I had to get two identical documents notarized I informed the school that the documents were identical so how will they tell them... Read More apart. They told me to not worry about that. So, I paid to have two aid years notarized and sent them back to the school in the same envelope and they told me I was not allowed to do this and they disregarded the second letter because they were identical and they could not tell them apart. They also couldn't send me my original document back because they were identical. This upset me because I called to verify that they were giving identical documents and they did not inform me to send the documents back separately or have them labeled. I had to notarize one of the documents again. All I am saying is stop confusing students and give them all the information up front when they call in confused. I partly blame myself for not writing something on the document in front of the notary to separate them.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies and had a positive experience. The school expects you to do your research, assignments, and papers and follow the APA guidelines. The homework could be challenging and require critical thinking, unlike other people's impressions that the school is not comparable to the Purdue network because it was a Kaplan deal, which was subjective without accurate assessment. The bottom line is that you have to work hard for your degree and achievement;... Read More it is NOT something you sign up for and get the degree without doing much (like a degree mill). The program differs from the Purdue network because it caters to a distinct group of students, mainly adults, which could be different from the Purdue network. However, that does not mean the school is in a lower grade.

Watch out for this school excell program, if you are looking to obtain a a high GPA. They assigned you certain amount of classes per cycle and ask you to complete a minimum of 6 credits. What they don't tell you is that they will give you an F on the uncompleted classes. Although you will take them on the next semester and it does not reflect on their overall GPA, it will affect your GPA when you apply yo graduate school. I regret going to this school so much. If u r applying to a competitive graduate program, this is not a good fit. Unless you can complete all the classes you need on one cycle.

Purdue Global's doctorate in education is a diploma mill. You do not get a committee as in most programs. Some students never even got a faculty advisor. It is a predatory pass fail where you pay to enlighten your professor if your research is innovative but you don't gain from the relationship. The textbook used for the literature review and qualitative research was vague and professors tell you to buy one version, yet reference another in the assignments. You are not taught scholarly writing or given adequate time to research your topic. If you want to get out quick, this is your program. If you want your research knowledge and skills to be on par with other doctoral candidates, pick another program. If your professor talks to you on the phone, send a follow-up email documenting the conversation because they will claim they told you things that they did not.
