I definitely don't have too many complaints regarding the Psychology department. 8/10 of the teachers within the program were very knowledgeable and ran their classes very effectively. Here and there there would be a teacher who didn't realize when the class didn't understand them or when their teaching style wasn't effective, but overall most of the professors made sure that the class was following and gave out assignments that helped their students learn the material well. Overall I would consider... Read More

SIU in Carbondale is a school that has its wonders. While having a well-structured Engineering program; it has a decent Psychology Program as well. SIU prepared me for the journey that I am currently embarking on and allowed me to grow as an individual. I had a great experience at Southern Illinois and I would recommend this university to anyone and everyone.

My college experience was filled with a lot of partying mixed with late night studying. I've met a lot of people at SIU and I learned a lot during my undergrad years. For anyone who would like to attend this school my advice would be to learn how to balance all the things you want to do. Make time to study, go to your teachers office hours, join as many organizations as you can and most importantly make time for fun.

Be eager to seek out professional opportunities, but make sure you take plenty of time to socialize. These years may possibly lead you to the most valuable relationships of your life. Find the balance and become the person you WANT to be (not who others think you should be, or who you think they want you to be).

My college experience was wonderful. Great instructors, great colleagues. However, I didn't take full advantage of the price ledges I had as a student and now I regret it.
Yes, either psychology or computer science. That was my second choice. I enjoyed my psych program immensely.
Take advantage of clubs and student organizations.
