Degree: Cognitive Psychology

Southern Wesleyan University is a small, Christian school. On the religious side of things, I did feel that I had a greater understanding of God. The administration was also very Christian. Everything was taught from a Christian worldview however, I did not learn anything. I think the psychology major is a mess there. On the athletic side of things, the Soccer program that I was a part of was horrible. The athletic director and administration did not intervene after countless professional papers... Read More

I had a great time at this college. The staff were very friendly, and the people were friendly as well. I loved the religion teachers as well as the science teachers. I learned a lot and had a lot of help. They also give you an opportunity to work on campus around your class schedule, which was a huge help. Overall I had a great experience at this school.

Degree:

First of all I want to say my situation is completely different. I live about 20 minutes away from campus so completing online courses was easier due to any issues (which there were several) I could go to campus.
I recommend the online program both Bachelors and Masters. I was put on academic probation due to stupid choices when I attended college in my younger years (I am almost 40 now). I pulled out in the end of my first semester (2016) and made Deans list in 2017. The over all experiences are... Read More

Degree: Business

I completed the program at a satellite campus very close to where I work. Taking classes at night in a close location allowed me to complete a program that would have been unlikely otherwise. The staff and students were great and everyone worked together for a common goal. I would highly recommend the program to others.

Degree: Education

The professors were very knowledgeable about each required subject area. Classes were enjoyable, informative, and extremely helpful. I continue to use many strategies and ideas I learned through my Master's program in my classroom today.

I found it to be a generic program. I loved the school where I got my bachelors much more educational. It was Western Carolina University. It was great!

I greatly enjoyed my time at SWU. I loved the on campus experience. There were a lot of great activities and people to spend time with. The Resident Directors were amazing people that really did a lot to help shape the lives of their residents. The biggest reason I loved SWU was how the professors invested in the lives of the students. The small classroom size allowed for a more personal experience. The professors not only knew me, but they knew my strengths and my passions. They were to help shape... Read More

Intense 18 month graduate program. Curriculum is focused only on degree related courses so no extra time for "fluff" classes. The down side is it 18 months with no break between courses.

Southern Wesleyan is a great institution for working adults. It offers classes one night a week through an accelerated program. I feel that the experience gained through this program is invaluable.

Degree: Business

I have attended Southern Wesleyan University for several years receiving both my Associate's and BA degrees and I am currently working on a dual Master's degree in Business Administration. The school has an excellent program designed for working adults. The staff and professors are very approachable no matter what circumstances you may face. The best part that I enjoy about being a student is that classes are faith based and teach you how to integrate your education into your Christian walk.

Pros: I loved the study group process. It made me strive to try harder because I did not want to be the weak link. Seriously, it worked for me. I was competitive and determined to finish whatever project that was due. Cons: Your study group is only as strong as you make it. It took effort to finally find our happy medium so that we could flow smoothly.
