Overall, I feel that Stanford brought not only good academics to students but also endless opportunities for high level networking. Outside of my classes, there were opportunities to connect with individuals in virtually every job field, and to further your depth as an individual through many university funded clubs as well.

I had a very good experience at Stanford University. I studied Computer Science and graduated in 2020. The program was challenging, but it pushed me to think deeper, solve problems better, and become more confident in my field. The quality of academics was excellent, and the courses were well structured with strong practical and research-based learning.
I also liked that the school gave students access to helpful resources, strong academic support, and a serious learning environment. The workload... Read More

Stanford is a great school with a lot to offer. It provides a ton of opportunities to meet high achieving people and peers from all over the world. Having experiences with such people will open your world and help you grow as an individual. The campus is beautiful and the support from the school is generally great! You will learn a lot from the fantastic faculty as well!

Overall the quality of the academics was incredible. My criticisms overall are that the degree pathways are very narrow and intense requiring early commitment to reach them which I think hinders students from finding what they are good at. I also think the student body was often full of morally concerning individuals and did not feel there was a screening process to establish if students were good people. Students were very judgmental, aesthetically, in terms of perceived intellect, classist, etc.... Read More

I feel very privileged to have attended Stanford University. The access to resources, support, and opportunities was particularly stellar. While I did struggle a bit with developing meaningful social connections, I do think that Stanford as an academic institution did a superb job of providing all of the opportunities for me to learn and grow as a scholar.

Stanford offers a lot of opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to students, including a lot of community-based organizations and student groups, community centers for every conceivable identity, guaranteed on-campus housing, and amazing professors who were very supportive of me. I credit them for helping me get into graduate school and would recommend it. The only drawbacks are that the workload can be quite heavy sometimes and if you're a low-income student you will feel very out of... Read More

This is an incredibly difficult school to attend for graduate school. You are expected to lead your own project and develop it from scratch in most cases. I got lucky in previous mentors and in finding people to help me, but the program itself was disorganized. Overall I am very proud of everything I did, but graduate school, and working at such a wonderful Research Institute was very difficult, and not what I expected.

While I was at Stanford University, I struggled and I thrived. It is odd to see both of those adjectives together, but here is the reason why I believe I experienced both of those realities. As a high school student, school was easy for me. I excelled in my classes, so when I was academically challenged, I did not know how to cope. I failed to request for help, and I was actually put on academic probation my second year of college. That is when I realized I needed to take ownership of my education.... Read More

I recently attended my 35th reunion from Stanford, where a lot of my classmates showed up because we created real, nurturing friendships that have lasted a life time. Stanford has a big reputation, but it's a pretty intimate campus with lot of natural beauty. I remember my first journalism class, where my professor encouraged me and nurtured my talent. It set me on a path that I'm still on, and still passionate about. A few years back, when I returned for my 20th reunion, I ran into the head of the... Read More
