Strayer is expensive, but they offer some majors that are very interesting to working adults that you don't find at state schools. I am in purchasing so the BBA with a focus in Contracts and Acquisitions was great for me. I learned a lot. The assignments made you think through what you learned and find ways to apply it, so you weren't just regurgitating information. Degrees are definitely earned at Strayer. If you have limited time and resources to go to school, this is the school for you. I'd be wary of their FA team, they are NEVER on the same page.
Some of the benefits are that classes are 11 weeks long. They focus on discussion and projects so you get real life experience. You are able to transfer existing credits, and you get a free subscription to Sofia, where you can take some gen eds free, saving you money in the process. However, FA will often overestimate your financial aid package, and correct it a few terms after it's been dispursed, costing you money. If you don't have to use any loans to pay for this, I wouldn't. If you have to use financial aid, only use exactly what you need for school.

They say they are "accesible" but I don't think they are that inclusive. I am non verbal, and it was difficult for me to get assistance with any issues I had , like with Financial aid, because there is no way to chat with that office, you HAVE to call. You can send them an email, but they don't always respond at a reasonable time.

All in all, my experience so far has been awful. Teachers are hit or miss, way too much emphasis on route book work rather than actual learning.

The labs are all outdated, and everything is hilariously old school in their explanation. It feels very behind and frankly, a waste of time.

Student loan department is a joke and doesn't know how their own services work. I've been told four different things by the same department regarding a student loan issue I have. And my coach is next to useless.

The IT classes aren't bad, if only outdated. However, every single other class is a joke and you can't adjust your schedule to ensure you're taking classes you need. They just care about the credit hours. I'll apparently finish my IT degree having only taken 1 programming class! Most class grades rely on "Discussion Posts" that have little to do with what the class is about. Then you had better make sure you write a whole paragraph or two for their one-sentence question, then a paragraph or more... Read More back to someone else, but make it an "organic conversation". My current class requires a book that only gets assigned for reading, but doesn't actually talk about any of the concepts being brought up in the class, and is never mentioned in class beyond having pages assigned. Someone is getting a nice kick-back for that I'm sure. I'm not even paying for these classes and I still fell like I'm getting ripped off.

This school sounds like a really good school but please read the reviews from other students and attend at your own risk! My sister attended the school before strayer classes were free and finished her degree in four years. I attend and even though I'm passing classes and taking free Sophia classes I still have 14 classes left after four years. My sister only took two classes a quarter and yet still finished within four years, I take three classes a course because I add a Sophia class and my graduation... Read More date is set at September 2028!. Not to mention when I signed up for financial aid I was thinking they have everything together and will only send me extra funds. They have a whole borrowing program that seems to have everything mapped out for you. But now because they were sending me money I am now short on financial aid and have to quit classes with only 14 left. I feel like this has been a huge waste of time and has put me in debt for no reason because I do not have a degree to get a job with. All in all the school seems fishy because none of the financial aid process makes sense. And the only solution is to speak with a coach who just gone confuse you more. I'm so confused, frustrated, and tired. I'm very upset I wasted so much time doing so much unnecessary work! Seems to me like either they scamming or the government scamming. Strayer University was the first college to contact me when I came out of rehab in 2022. I needed something to be proud of for myself since I had just gone through one of the lowest points of my life, followed immediately by the best choice of my life--checking into a mental hospital and then choosing inhouse rehab. I had been out of school for 29 years when I decided to enroll at Strayer. I had wanted to pursue a degree in psychology but Strayer does not off any degrees in psychology, therefore... Read More I chose accounting. I do not know how other online universities operate, but at Strayer the human connection is not there. I get an email from both of my professors before the semester starts and a text once a week about a zoom meeting that I have the option to attend or not. The course work, in my opinion, could be learned from going to the library and doing research in accounting and save me thousands of dollars. The tuition has increased from 1400 per class to 1580 per class. Why? It is not like the cost of internet connections has increased over 10,000 percent for the need to increase tuition this much. We take our classes from our homes on our computers. To me, they are money-hungry. The one positive that came out of my enrollment at Strayer was the mentor they assigned me my first semester. Misty is her name and she and I have become best of friends. I am currently enrolled at Strayer and I have 3 weeks left in this semester. Once this semester is over I will be leaving Strayer and attending a university that offers a degree in psychology with a focus on substance abuse counseling. These are just my opinions. I have good and bad well I graduated which is excellent, as far as career internships or partnership with companies to help with career advancement per degree, none. Now let's go into official transcript takes forever for whatever reason that is ultimately preventing me from starting Graduate School at another University it's crazy but if you were continuing with STRAYER you could start ASAP. Besides that I was able to finish in 2 years which is also excellent, the Sofia courses helped with that. Let's see, oh the Grad fund which I have over 10k left upon graduating is a slap in the face. Honestly, I'm like what was the point. It's crazy because I recommended this school to a few people and two of them are currently still attending but I have been keeping them updated on the BS pertaining to situations I have delt with while attending. These are a couple reasons why I chose not to attend their GRAD PROGRAM scared of continued BS.

I attended Strayer for only two semesters. In that time I completed 18 credits. The courses are insanely easy, including Sophia, which only requires a 70 to pass, no challenge, no real education. It did not take me long to discover that this was a diploma mill business. The discussion boards are filled with....well you'll see....people asking when they'll get their disbursement checks, asking for money to pay their rent, asking to add people on IG and face book to "hang out". Not only were the classes a joke, I had three different advisors in a short time who never really had a clue how to advise and I never bothered trying to reach out to a career coach. I already work in tech but I did however looked at the career center just for laughs and it did not disappoint. You can find all the same listings on any public job search engine. The school offers no major affiliations. Besides resume building and possibly a mock interview; your on your own from start to finish.

I am a vet that decided to pivot to IT during the pandemic after some financial setbacks and other life problems. The VA pushed out the VRRAP program and I am very thankful for this as my other military benefits were exhausted. I am able to relax a little while I earn my degree from home, but I am not gullible! I just put a sock in it and "kept my head down" once I realized I was thrown into the trap. Read More While they offer education, it seems like a business model made that profits off of whatever the student can get told to pay under the veil of it being for education. I am grateful for the VRRAP program being paid for, however, I was disappointed this was the only option the VA would offer to pay for career development. I would just think giving up my life and health was for this, it should be at least made worth it. Just please send me to a traditional college at this point.
