The class sizes were appropriate and not overly large. Course work was manageable and teachers offered adequate assistance. The campus has nice perks especially the nature preserve. Overall I was very happy to get a degree from Binghamton University. Some professors seemed to be disinterested in their courses especially entry level classes. At the same time some professors shaped me into the person I am today. I would recommend Binghamton for in-state students the value was impressive vs private... Read More

Binghamton University was the first place I truly felt like I belonged and thrived. I met the most incredible, driven, and smart people who became my classmates and cherished friends. The academics were top notch and I felt challenged. While it may not be a hidden gem to prospective or current students, I absolutely adored the on campus Nature Preserve and spent many a weekend out on the trails. It was such a unique perk of campus.

Overall, I think SUNY Binghamton was a good education, especially for the price, but was lacking in others areas. The biology program was rigorous and challenging, even with entry-level courses. I also got to still take some prerequisites outside of my science classes and they were unique and fun. It did feel difficult to connect with professors and other teaching faculty due to how large class sizes in science courses were, but I was still able to become a TA for a few courses. However, being at... Read More

Binghamton is a bustling school in a sleepy city. The academics were great---truly rigorous, especially if you're wanting to major in business. There are lots of activities on and off campus and it really does feel like you're part of a community. The professors can sometimes leave a bit to desire. My own major had some professors with questionable teaching skills, but I pulled through. The campus is also great to walk around, and the buildings are clean and well-maintained.

Overall Binghamton was a very solid school for its location in upstate NY. It is somewhat in the middle of nowhere but its academics are highly rated and well known. I enjoyed my time on campus for my first two years as the campus is very well connected and secluded. Thankfully they accepted most of my previous college credits which helped me graduate a year early. They do need some work on their arts programs as they tend to put their focus in the STEM programs which was frustrating at times. But... Read More

Personally, I did not expect to attend Binghamton University. I wanted to say in NYC area and didn't want to travel four hours away just to attend college. I never even visited before i enrolled. However, I met some of my best friends while at college and learned a lot of life lessons while living away from home. The professors were great and everyone really cared, even the ones that I thought I didn't enjoy at the time. The school and people and internships that ive gained while attending this school... I had a phenomenal time there. The education was good, professors were fair and informative and classes could be engaging. The campus is beautiful and there are so many different ways to meet people and get involved. Housing is spectacular and food was much better than other college options.

I had a fantastic experience at Binghamton. The students were all collegial and wonderful to be around and the professors really seemed to care about each student and their respective progress. I felt supported during my time on campus and am a proud Binghamton grad!

ualbany is a school that has a large diversity of both students and acedemics. i found my time there to be productiove and challenging. I believe if i had chosen a different and more specific area of study that i could have benefited more. I still was able to learn how to think and i believe my time in communication studies helped me understand people and their motives better than i would have without it.

Absolutely horrendous environment (weather, campus, location) but education was fairly nice. It's well recognized in New York so getting a job in New York city is not as difficult. Business school is pretty good, good pipeline to big 4 accounting firms.

Binghamton University offers a wide range of programs in various fields that students can pick from. Like many other schools however, not all of these programs are equally funded and taken care of. Binghamton also carries this trait. I was most involved with the Chemistry department during my time there since I was a chemistry major. Often times felt that our resources were not as well cared for or kept as resources used by say students in the business school. Additionally, faculty in the chemistry... Read More

I attended Binghamton from 2018 to 2022. I came in undecided and met great people (friends and professors) that helped me stay excited on campus. I got to take interesting classes, partake in clubs and events. I felt well prepared for my grad life with the right skills and experiences. Living at Binghamton taught me a lot about independence.

I did not enjoy my time at Binghamton. The education was only okay. For Human Development, I expected the university to be more connected to the city of Binghamton and the surrounding communities. We had a shiny, fancy new building but did not seem to partner with community organizations and local governments as much as we could have. The social life was limited as I was not interested in Greek Life. The city of Binghamton is dreary and grey, which added to the general down mood.

I loved attending SUNY Binghamton. Their biology program was excellent. The professors cared a great deal about their students. There were excellent internship opportunities for students. The professors were always available when needed, often going above and beyond when I needed assistance with my program. I am thankful for the opportunity that they gave me to learn under them. Also the food and nature preserve are fantastic!

Overall, the academics and culture are very much worth the money you spend. The mid school size is perfect for a close-knit yet big school vibe that you get from larger schools. Academics have steadily been improving every year, with recent grads landing impressive careers that are comparable to some Ivies. One thing to note is that the lack of "pride" that I would say derives from a weak athletic culture around the school. Apart from that, everything is perfect the way it is.

Binghamton has a lot of opportunities available and I wish that I took more advantage of all of them. I struggled figuring out what I wanted to major in and this resulted in me changing my major a few times. I wish that I had reached out to my academic adviser to help me figure out what I wanted to do and the best way of doing it instead of trying to do that all on my own. You really need to be your own advocate because the resources are there. I did visit career services which was helpful in creating... Read More

Binghamton offers a lot of helpful resources to find your direction in college. I entered not knowing too much what I specifically wanted to do, but after I met with the engineering department (Watson Advising) they were able to give me insight into the program and the different avenues I could take within that. I was able to then transfer pretty easily and ended up loving my major and the faculty that taught my curriculum were extremely knowledgable and helpful. I do wish I got involved in a few... SUNY Binghamton was an incredible experience from start to finish. It is a medium sized school with about 17,000 students but most of the time you wouldn't even be able to tell. Though lectures can become large, especially in the STEM field that is incredible popular at Binghamton, I never felt like I was lost in the crowd. The professors at Binghamton are incredibly talented and always there to help--most of them just ask you to swing by their office and your problems are solved in an instant. I... Read More

I loved my degree program at SUNY Binghamton. Binghamton University holds itself to a high degree of academic integrity. It is a somewhat large college campus, but a community feel is fostered within the various living communities. The majority of my professors in my programs (Political Science and Spanish) were intelligent, approachable, and contributed to a good learning experience. I thought academic advising left much to be desired. Go Bearcats!
