Ashford is a great school! I just want to warn you if you are planning on becoming a teacher! I went there for my Bachelors & Masters in Early Childhood Education. After I graduated, I call to find out how to get certify for my teaching license because I knew Ashford told us that we will had to get certified on your own. I thought that would not be a problem! Ashford told me to get in contact with SC Department of Education. SC Department of Education told me that Ashford was not an "Regionally Accredited... Read More School", so I would have to go to another school that offers Teaching License for students after graduation for at least 2 more years! In other words, they would help you get certify in your state as well as set you up for student teaching as a part of your coursework. When I enter, I knew that they were accredited, but did not know the difference between regionally accredited and accredited at the time. Now I feel that I have wasted all those years with 2 degrees, that will most likely want help me to become a teacher! Just go to a school that is regionally accredited for example: University of phoenix, WGU, Walden or Liberty University. Please read small print and everything!!!

The pros of the Early Childhood program that I'm in are I'm moving forward in the career change that I've made.K. H. has been with me and encouraged me every step of the way. She had given me ideas, and phone numbers of people I could contact to take care of my student loans. She sends me e-mails to make sure I'm ok; Her encouraging words have helped me to know that I have the power to finish the program with a BA. The cons are few. The only issue was getting to learn how the online class works;... Read More for example where is the Ashford library is, or where to find financial aid information was. After the first week I knew how every thing worked and where to find specific information.

The only cons I have with Ashford University is that it takes so long for you to receive your stipends. I don't know if it's like that with all schools and universities. This is the first university that I have attended besides going to a technical school for several years. This is the only con that really gets next to me, it doesn't take the university and the instructors long for them to receive their monies, I just wanted to know why it takes so long for the students to receive their stipends;... Read More especially we're the ones that have to pay the monies back to the university that we chose to attend.

I started at this school in 2010 and graduated In 2013 with a BA in Early Childhood Education I am in the national Golden Key Honor Society and finished with a 3.72 Magna Cum Laude.

I started my Master's this year and three courses in I have a 3.67 during my fourth class my instructor left and a new assistant professor Keith Pressy took over and felt that my work was not corrected and that he was failing me and he was putting me on a probation, really I received no help from my academic advisor and... Read More really this was not handled correctly so if you have a problem with a teacher do not look to get help because they will not help you at all.

With that I am back at University of Phoenix which has a better and more detailed course for what I was really look for.
