Prior to starting college, I was very hesitant of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), because some individuals view the university as a knock off University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK). Overall, I could not be happier with my decision to attend UTC. I cannot say enough great things about this school and their faculty. The fall is my favorite time of year to be at UTC.
Before I transferred to UTC I attended a community college where I also studied Criminal Justice. In my opinion, the Criminal Justice program at UTC is one of the best. The professors are experienced in the field, which makes for great stories, examples, and life lessons. The professors are also very well educated in the subjects that they teach, and even the subjects that they do not teach. The professors have an open-door policy, so I was able to walk in their office any time I had a question or concern. I never had a professor I did not thoroughly enjoy while attending The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The professors would go above and beyond for their students, including myself, and I honestly do not think that their hard work and dedication receives enough credit. If I had to do it all over again I would choose the same university without hesitation.

This University was the highlight of my life. College is one of the best times of your life! Chattanooga is a wonderful place with plenty of activities to do outdoors and indoors. At UTC the field of Psychology is taken seriously. I had several industry-leading instructors during my time at UTC. Ralph Hood, whom I assume is still teaching basically created the field of "Psychology of Religion". His classes contain the most interesting, insightful, and mind-blowing lectures you'll ever hear. I would highly recommend creating a concentration for yourself in either Cognitive, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology. These are high-paying fields that can lead to some amazing career... My concentration in Cognitive Psychology should really help.

Choosing a college to attend is a major life decision. The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, was an excellent choice for a number of reasons. First, the campus environment is vibrant and welcoming. The services provided help students find ways to live rich and rewarding lives. As a student, it is possible to rent out equipment like bicycles, sleeping bags, and backpacking tents to take on weekend trips to one of the many beautiful mountains and rivers near the university. Secondly, the academic community there is highly supportive and dedicated. There are many opportunities available for students seeking to get the most out of their education. I applied to join the Honors Society as an associate scholar, and the career counseling and academic advisement I received in doing so prepared me greatly to master my curriculum. I also found an opportunity to work for the university as a tutor/college counselor to local high school students seeking admissions into college following graduation. The things I learned from that experience have carried over to help me with other pursuits and positions of employment throughout my life. Since I graduated in 2007, the campus has undergone several notable improvements. A brand new library has been opened at heart of the university. An all new college stadium has been built and a new football program created. Renovations to the old dormitories have revitalized the living situation, along with new dorms going up across the street. Students living on campus can easily walk or ride a bike downtown to study at the coffee shops, city parks, or on the benches of the pedestrian bridge spanning the Tennessee River. Local art museums, unbeatable aquariums, and scenic Appalachian vistas like Lookout Mountain top off my list of the many reasons why The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga is a fantastic choice for college seekers!

My major was entrepreneurship. I thought they provided me with excellent skills in all fields of business which is truly what entrepreneurship is. My only criticism would be career services and having direct links to companies who possibly recruit from our school. I had friend who went to less ranked schools and wasn't AACSB accredited and had more success with recruitment from businesses. I know things have changed since.
