I'd be lying if I said I didn't hate my school when I first got there. I quickly realized how much of a homebody I really was, it was a massive culture shock for me since I moved to Tuscaloosa all the way from Pennsylvania. After a few months, I realized that the only person holding me back, was myself, and it opened so many doors for me. I started taking full advantage of my opportunities, got involved with the many on-campus organizations, excelled in my classwork, joined Greek life, and made the... Read More

My experience at the University of Alabama was truly exceptional. The faculty in the Computational Mathematics program were supportive, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in student success. The coursework was rigorous but rewarding, helping me develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills that have been invaluable in my career. The campus environment was welcoming, with plenty of resources, research opportunities, and student support services. Overall, my time at UA had a very positive and... Read More

I am very grateful to have attended the University of Alabama. The ability to make friends and have a good time, no matter your background, is very at the University of Alabama. The academics are obviously not the highest quality but I did learn a lot and my degree has set me up well post-grad.

I had a great time attending the University of Alabama. The campus is lovely and well-kept I can not complain about tha, and it has contemporary amenities that helped me with both my extracurricular and academic pursuits. The in-depth of courses allowed me to explore my major and other interests, also the professors were friendly and informed. There were many clubs, activities, and sports for students to participate in, making student life lively and more interesting. The University of Alabama has... Read More

The online nursing program is trash. The professors are unhelpful. They offer no help in finding any clinical preceptor sites. You are essentially teaching yourself and turning in busywork. I am in process of trying to transfer out of this masters program and into a different one.

Degree: Liberal Studies

UA's English program has fantastic professors, but the downer of the program is the people in it. I'm pretty far left but the people are so liberal to the point it gets toxic often and people are afraid to speak out. The reason I stay is for the program itself and the support they give their students. It's possible to find your people, but sometimes you have to look hard.

My experience so far is one of pride that I have been able to be apart of my university. The dedication and hard work that has been put into my two years so far has allowed me to succeed in many ways, as well as increasing my self-development skills. The university is a great place to study and I would suggest it to anyone.

I highly recommend The University of Alabama to any student. Being an out of state student who knew no one when I first got to campus, I had the opportunity to meet so many new people and some of my very best friends because of all of the campus involvement available to students. I loved my major and my advisors always made sure I was on track with my classes and internships.

Degree: Information Systems

I attended The University of Alabama from 2015-2018 and received a degree in Management Information Systems and a Global Studies Certificate. I had a very positive undergraduate experience because of the immense academic support, excellent business school, and myriad of extracurricular activities. My academic counselors were excellent and willing to give me academic and personal advice. They were easy to contact, and happy to help. I enjoyed the rigorous business and technology classes that the business... Read More

I greatly enjoyed my degree program because it was personally tailored to me and my interests. I got a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies with a depth study in Arts Education. After joining New College my sophomore year, I was able to custom fit a program to my needs since the University did not have a set education program that focused on arts.

If i could i never put any star for this program. The grading is bad and the teacher don't help you. the communication is very weak and they make you to fail at least two courses in order not to issue verification statement. At the end you pay 30k for nothing.

Degree: Journalism

I am finishing my senior year while subsequently beginning my graduate degree in the journalism program at the University of Alabama. By far my favorite thing about the department is the emphasis on internships and real-world experience. I have already worked an internship at The Tuscaloosa News and two campus magazines. I also love that most of my professors have been media professionals, so they know the business and what students need to succeed as journalists.

I enjoyed the different schedule options, one on one support from professors and there were so many jobs on campus to help me pay for school. The only drawback I will report is dont have a balance on your student account cause they will let you participate in the graduation ceremony but you will never receive your diploma or transcripts if you owe them money. While the University of Alabama is an excellent institution with many valuable resources for current students, sometimes it is easy to get lost in the sea of 40,000 students. I found it quite difficult to receive advising for scheduling, internships, and career resources. I became involved in research based on my own initiation and was not recommended by any advisors, even though getting involved in research was vital for my success in psychology during undergrad and beyond.

The MBA program is designed with career placement in mind. The staff is phenomenally supportive and engages alumni and other recruiters and decision makers to allow you to be seen by as many companies as you would like. Academically the program is less about rigor and more about time management.

Degree: Communications

The University of Alabama graduate program for organizational leadership, has been an outstanding program for me. Improvements in technology has allowed me to finally pursuit a master's degree in Communications. The professors have created challenging, media rich, courses that engage students. They go the extra mile to make themselves available via video conferencing or phone to help you with questions or just to talk theory. I could not have asked for a better graduate school experience.
