I'd be lying if I said I didn't hate my school when I first got there. I quickly realized how much of a homebody I really was, it was a massive culture shock for me since I moved to Tuscaloosa all the way from Pennsylvania. After a few months, I realized that the only person holding me back, was myself, and it opened so many doors for me. I started taking full advantage of my opportunities, got involved with the many on-campus organizations, excelled in my classwork, joined Greek life, and made the... Read More absolute most of my experience. I will say, I waited a year to join Greek life and it did make me feel somewhat isolated. Among the first set of questions people would ask upon meeting you was "What sorority/fraternity are you in?", and when I would say none, people definitely gave me weird looks. It was almost like a rite of passage there, like you had to wear letters to "be somebody". Joining the shuffle my sophomore year is never something I would regret. I truly did meet my best friends for life, came out of my shell and found my outgoing side, and it forced me to stay motivated with my schoolwork so I could attend functions, be part of recruitment, all that good stuff. I made endless connections. The best part of my school wasn't the football games (though incredible), and it wasn't the massive sorority houses. It was that people came to UA from all over the world and brought with them so much to learn. You could join a club under nearly any topic of interest. I also did enjoy my academic experience, though it didn't hold a candle to what I'm sure the fashion programs are like at a school like the Fashion Institute of Technology or LIM. However, the best thing about my program was that you had to have an internship to graduate. This was the absolute best kickstart to my career, I had so much support in finding the right path for me, even amid the global pandemic when absolutely nothing was going according to plan for anybody. Overall, I absolutely adored my experience at Alabama and it shaped me into who I am today. I will forever go down to Tuscaloosa for games every season, teach my kids what I learned there, and involve them in the culture. It created such a lasting impact for me in every way and I'm so grateful for my time there, even though it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Take the leap, it's worth it. Change isn't meant to be comfortable or easy.

My experience at the University of Alabama was truly exceptional. The faculty in the Computational Mathematics program were supportive, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in student success. I had a great time attending the University of Alabama. The campus is lovely and well-kept I can not complain about tha, and it has contemporary amenities that helped me with both my extracurricular and academic pursuits. The in-depth of courses allowed me to explore my major and other interests, also the professors were friendly and informed. I had a very positive undergraduate experience because of the immense academic support, excellent business school, and myriad of extracurricular activities. Overall, my experience at Alabama was amazing. My degree was in the arts and sciences department and every class was fulfilling. I enjoyed the different schedule options, one on one support from professors and there were so many jobs on campus to help me pay for school. The only drawback I will report is dont have a balance on your student account cause they will let you participate in the graduation ceremony but you will never receive your diploma or transcripts if you owe them money. I graduated... Read More in 2014 with two degrees and I have never seen my diplomas because I owe them 4600$ Im trying to pay it off but its hard to accumulate that much when Bama is also charging interest on your school debt.
