I loved UCI, but the environment among students was quite toxic in my opinion. Everyone is super competitive, so it's best not to expect meeting a life-long friend there unless you are in a sorority or fraternity. I loved the research experiences they provided. I loved the professors, although some of them can seem serious and cold.

I loved the psychology program at UCI! The professors were really nice and the school of social sciences had a lot of great resources for its students. The advising staff was always incredibly friendly and helpful.. The campus as a whole had a great vibe and so much to do.

Best school for me. Professors were always there for me when I needed them to be. Always offered extra office hours, some being generous enough to give us their number to call in case of an emergency. I always felt supported. I would also take advantage of the career center. My classmates were also great, I think UCI does a great job at accepted students who are motivated to work and study. My teachers were strict but taught me so much. They were kind and well-versed in their field and area of expertise.... Read More

I had an incredible time at UC Irvine for my undergraduate career. This school is a place for those who don't mind being one of 20,000, or one of up to 300 in a class at times.I personally found no issue with the set up and felt as the faculty really cared and made themselves available to me. I also had access to incredible financial resources and counseling along the way that helped me make informed decisions about funding my tuition. My Psychology program specifically was great as well. I enjoyed... Read More

UCI is an amazing school, just as all the internet articles and surveys mention. The campus is small enough to become well connected with students and professors, but still big enough for you to run out of breath on the way to class. There are plenty of research opportunities and internships to become involved with during the four years of undergraduate studies. The people and the environment make UCI a very welcoming environment for all ages and ethnicities.

It is a very big school which is both a positive and a negative. There are tons of great resources, a very wide variety of classes, extensive study abroad options, and a large beautiful campus. The downside is that it can be difficult to get to know professors, but if you make an effort it is definitely possible.

A forum for learning what you want to learn; I took the opportunity to not focus on which degree would help my career path most, rather which degree/classes provided me the opportunity to learn what I wanted

My freshman year was super hard because I accidentally got on the wrong side of one professor. He in turn made my life hell by contacting my other professors and telling them random stuff about me. They in turn graded me hard, spoke to me disrespectfully, and never actually heard my side of the story. The whole thing was a misunderstanding and this professor took something way too personally. I almost failed all of my classes because of this. I was placed on probation and the counselor might have... Read More
