University of Charleston was home to me for four years, and "home" is exactly what it felt like. The small, beautiful campus was exactly what I was looking for in a college. During my time at UCWV, I met so many diverse people, all of whom were amazing. My professors were outstanding. I truly do not think I would have found the passion I have for my field or developed the skills that I have without my advisor specifically. The dorms were very nice, and they just keep improving the campus! The Innovation... Read More

Very friendly and accommodating but the level of academic rigor needs to be examined. The degree, itself, does very little and there aren't many opportunities. More working with industries would be beneficial. One thing it was very good at was working with students to meet their needs over cost and payment plans.

The pro are that the school is nice, faculty is good, and the school it self is safe. Cons are that I personally don't like the area around the school and if you don't have a car your options for having fun are limited.

Overall this program is very good. What helps this program the most is its staff. The staff care about you the most. The work can be challenging but it is a graduate school after all. What also helps this school is that it is not in a big city so there aren't that many distractions instead the area is very beautiful to live in especially because of the mountains.

The professors are very concerned for a students success. Every effort is given to insure that the student will succeed. The downside is if you take an online course then the student might not get a timely response. However, this just solidifies the students resolve in taking matters into their own hands and learning to work independently.

Pro: The school has a strong program and as a P1 you might have a chance to start your IPPE very early. The faculty are very helpful and have an open door policy. The program is also accredited by the ACPE, and the school is currently working on their PGY1 and PGY2 programs. Small class size also plays a huge part in how well you get to know your adviser and faculty Cons: School is still new so there is a lot of trial and error from each class. Could use more guidance or follow up for things that... Read More
