CU Boulder is a great school and has a gorgeous campus. I really enjoyed my time there and living in Colorado, but it's extremely expensive, especially for being out of state. Besides that, post-graduation career help is available but limited. Not very helpful moving back home and out of Colorado.

Degree: Music

I attended University of Colorado Boulder as a music student, and while I can recognize that certain programs — especially engineering — have a very strong reputation, my personal experience at the school was not particularly positive. The campus itself is beautiful, and there are definitely opportunities available for students who fit the culture and social environment there. However, I found the overall atmosphere to be difficult to connect with, and at times it felt more focused on lifestyle and... Read More

As someone studying music, I didn’t feel especially encouraged or fulfilled by the environment, and socially it just wasn’t the right fit for me. I think CU Boulder can work very well for certain personalities and career paths, particularly in engineering or outdoor-oriented student life, but it’s important for prospective students to understand that the school’s vibe is very specific and absolutely not for everyone.

The University of Colorado, Boulder was an incredible place to go to school. My professors were great at both teaching facts and teaching new ways of thinking. CU helped me deepen my love of learning and helped prepare me for my career. It is also easily one of the most beautiful campuses and towns in the country

CU Boulder was a great school to attend on a beautiful campus and overall had a great school culture. Knowing that I wanted to go pre-med, choosing Integrative Physiology was the best major I could have ever asked for because of the advanced classes offered specifically unique to this school. It has helped me so much in my professional career since graduating and I am proud to be a forever Buff!

Overall, I enjoyed my time at CU Boulder, but it had its flaws. The location could not be more beautiful with the flatirons visible from most areas and campus itself with its unique architecture. The professors are capable and the class selection is interesting. There is a rather limited selection of minors available compared to other schools, though. Regional bus passes and Bcycle access are included in tuition which further enhanced what is already an amazing public transportation experience. The... Read More

Graduated from University of Colorado Boulder in 2022. Overall, I had a good experience. The campus is genuinely beautiful, with stunning buildings and mountain views, and it always felt very safe walking around at any time of day.
That said, it is definitely a very liberal and socially driven environment, and in my opinion there is often more emphasis on social culture than academics. It’s also extremely expensive, which can be hard to justify depending on your priorities.
On the positive side, there... Read More

I enjoyed attending CU Boulder, there was a wide variety of classes, the registartion process was easy, the teachers and faculty were kind and knowledgable. With such a large school, you were very responsible for yourself and learning and class sizes could very very large. I regret the major I chose and wish there was more introduction to real world application of majors.

CU is a beautiful school and offered me one of the best educational experiences I've ever had! The amenities the university offered were some of the best in the state, and not to mention the campus and locale are some of the most BEAUTIFUL sights you will ever see. If you're big into the outdoors and getting a world class education, this is the place for you!

The university of colorado at boulder is overall a pretty good school. It has a lot of groups and activities for students to join. I was in the engineering school, and the classes were very challenging but I learned a lot. I was able to have a great community of people in my dorm

Boulder is a fun school and a fun town. Academics are what you make of it, however opportunities for internships are limited in Boulder directly. Outdoors and nature are great. Housing and cost of living can be on the higher side. Ultimately it is what you make of it.

I really enjoyed my time at CU. The political science program at CU has amazing professor and classes. I also loved the way the program was set up because it gave me so much freedom to explore different classes and areas of study both within and outside of the political science major.

The University of Colorado at Boulder is an amazing school to attend. There are infinite options when it comes to clubs, greek life, on-campus, and off-campus activities. The location of the school is amazing for any and all outdoor activities, especially related to skiing/snowboarding. The academics are rigorous and professors are very knowledgeable and care about students succeeding.

I enjoyed being a part of this University. The town around me was great as far as having an improvement over my physical and mental health. It was a great first step in me finding my identity and being able to find unique ways to express myself. The professors there really helped me shape my interest in business and economics which has a profound impact in my career.

CU Boulder provided solid technical foundations through diverse, hands-on projects spanning data mining, mobile development, and web applications. The curriculum emphasized real-world problem-solving and collaborative teamwork. However, the academic journey appeared challenging. Despite this, the program successfully equipped students with practical CS skills, strong GitHub portfolio work, and experience tackling complex problems—from accessibility-focused apps to data analysis projects that translate... CU Boulder is probably one of the best schools you can attend in the United States. We have great academics, especially if you’re considering business, engineering, or specifically aerospace. The best part, however, is the location and campus life. Boulder is stunningly beautiful year-round, there’s tons of outdoor activities nearby, and you’ll always have something to do as students are great about creating social opportunities, even if you don’t partake in Greek life.

CU Boulder while reputable for sciences and engineering falls short for business degree students. This school is largely pretentious, expensive, and inflexible. Their MBA program is trying too hard to be a top 10 level school when it's top 100 at best. The Leeds School of Business behind closed doors is struggling to determine what its curriculum should be to position students well. My class in 2019 had a near 100% fail rate for some exams in a class titled "Data and Decisions"--after a 4 day crash... Read More

I'm a parent who attended CU and made the mistake of sending one of my kids to the school (2021). Over the years it's become a very poorly managed, third-rate educational institution. Professors don't teach the courses; they instead use third rate hack $50K a year Teaching Assistants who often times don't even have their PhD's in the topic they're overseeing (teaching wouldn't be the appropriate term) - this is how they save money on your over-inflated tuition dime. Most of the courses are taught... Read More

I transferred to CU Boulder from several schools (my dad did not understand how college worked and I finally paid for college myself and moved to CO then transferred to CU). So my path is not traditional but it is filled with a lot of wisdom in the form of comparison! I loved loved loved CU. Yes it was hard, but with work and dedication I easily had some of the top grades even outside of business. You have to actually try at CU and sometimes try hard. And most of the teachers were great.
