Overall, my experiences at UCCS were positive. The campus itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The parking, however, can be a bit tricky and it is sometimes difficult to find a spot. I enjoyed my time at UCCS for the small class sizes, accessible and friendly and accommodating professors, and the wonderful and beautiful campus environment. I have had nearly zero contact with anyone from the school. I am taking classes virtually, but I have never spoken with a course advisor or anyone from the college and degree program unless I initiated it. I enrolled 1+ yrs ago and was only told in Jan '23 that a set of transcripts was never received when I tried to register for Spring classes. The only reason I learned of it was that I was reaching out to register. This school and/or program does not care about online students and only has these... Read More programs as a cash grab for my GI Bill. This program was the biggest waste of time and money regardless of online vs on-campus. I admit, I forgot to fully drop a course, due to life circumstances and it caused my GPA to fall below the 3.0 grad threshold, but even so, I was never contacted by anyone from my degree program or college office that my GPA would be in a probationary status and could affect my continuation in the program. This only told to me when I tried to register for a Spring class that was an elective and I need a permission code. The Engineering School at UCCS and specifically their online programs are entirely uncommunicative and do not follow up or reach out to the online students in any way. Regardless of the reason why. DO NOT ATTEND!!!!

This degree program was incredible. The degree included a credential program so I was able to learn inclusive education and at the same time apply it to 4 different classroom settings. This program gave me the chance to see what field of children I worked best with. I saw second grade, preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I fell in love with preschool. I signed up for 3 classes/9 Credit Hours in the Fall '19 to pursue my BS in Business Administration. UCCS charges $37/Credit Hour more than TA allows, meaning a standard 3 Credit Hour class will cost you $111 out of pocket. In addition to that, UCCS charged over $1,300 in mandatory, non-negotiable fees (not-covered by TA) EACH SEMESTER to attend the classes on campus even if I was 100% not going to be using the services the fees were charging for. Suffice to say, I dropped all classes and disenrolled upon looking at my student balance and talking with the university finance office before the semester began.

I highly recommend active duty military relying on TA and not using VA Top-Up to avoid taking classes at UCCS unless you want to pay a ton of money out of pocket.

The University of Colorado (UCCS) in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado is an amazing school with amazing professors! Though it is a large university, it has a small university feel to it, so it is easy to get to know your professors and classmates. The Anthropology and Women's and Ethnic Studies degrees are amazing. The professors are well versed in their fields and always available to chat after class and make recommendations for the future.
