I was first drawn to the University of Delaware due to its robust honor's program and vast study abroad programs. I initially entered into college as a general biology major, which I eventually changed to neuroscience with biology and global studies minors. Throughout my time at UD, I met incredible people, was taught by some incredible professors, and was able to study abroad on a safari in Africa. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at this university, however, since it is such a big institution,... Read More

I really enjoyed college. I met my best friends and learned a lot about independence being away from home. The campus was not huge so it felt more like a community where I was always recognizing faces everywhere I walked. I felt like my degree was unique and had lots of cool hands-on and experiential type of learning. My labs were outdoors and we had classes walking around the farm learning about plants. I had the opportunity to travel abroad to Tanzania and it was life-changing. Overall I feel like... Read More

I wish there was more connections at my university. In terms of in-person learning opportunities, we're not as obvious to participate. After graduating, I have noticed there is a lack of an alumni network, as well as job fairs had limited competitive jobs.

I am so grateful for my experience at the University of Delaware and could not imagine having had my college career anywhere else. The school is the perfect size - it is big enough for you to be in classes with new people every semester, but not too big to feel overwhelming. I met some incredible people across a variety of majors and walks of life. The college town was comfy but not in the middle of nowhere. I feel very lucky for the experience the school provided me.

The University of Delaware offers a solid overall experience, but it comes with a mix of strengths and drawbacks. Academically, there are some strong programs and many professors who are knowledgeable and genuinely invested in their students. However, the quality of teaching can feel inconsistent depending on the department or course.
The campus itself is יפה and well-maintained, and there are plenty of resources available for students, including libraries, study spaces, and extracurricular activities.... Read More
Social life is active, especially if you’re interested in Greek life or campus events, but it may feel limiting for those looking for more diverse or low-key options. Additionally, costs can be high, and it doesn’t always feel like the value matches the price.
Overall, the University of Delaware is a decent choice with some great opportunities, but it may not fully meet expectations in every area.

Life at UD is the perfect mix of big-school energy and a cozy community. Between classes on The Green and grabbing lunch on Main Street, Newark feels like home. It is a top-tier research hub where being a Blue Hen means working hard and playing hard.

I enjoyed my time at UD. I think the Campus is great, the opportunities are never ending. The only struggle I had was financial aid and it was difficult for me to secure my aid each semester. This at times caused a great deal of stress and delayed my class registration.

To sum up my experience at the Unviersity of Delaware: I went into my freshman year without a clue of what I would pursue for my bachelor's degree and then ended up graduating with a criminal justice degree and three minors in the four years of school. Thanks to my peers and professors, I was able to see that I could thrive academically, unlike I did in high school, and also be treated with proper guidance and support throughout my time at the University of Delaware. My biggest regret was not taking... Read More

The campus is beautiful and the staff and faculty are engaging and passionate. Its a large school so you can get lost in the crowd per se if you dont make an effort to engage, but thats everywhere. If I could go back and do it again I would make sure to create relationships with professors and network more. I would also take advantage of all the career services offered and events.

I transferred to the University of Delaware via Penn State. I found the education to be the same, if not a bit worse at Delaware. There was not much advanced or practical, applicable material to what I was learning, but rather formulaic work I could teach myself. Furthermore, connections matter more than education in my industry. Network at Penn State is much larger and provides more opportunities than Delaware.

Many of my professors at UD were excellent. I wish my studio size was a bit smaller. Our online environment during COVID was better than it could have been, but some things just can't translate. The environment was mostly welcoming. They are fairly well known for their music education program.

I had an amazing experience at UD. I felt that they provided a great environment for me to learn and grow from. The major I picked was not something that took me very far, so I had to pursue a master’s degree. I’ve only heard positive things about their academics too.

Attending the University of Delaware was both good and bad. It is a historic school with a beautiful campus, exactly what one pictures when thinking about an East Coast university. The university has a wide range of academic programs and student groups. My biggest gripe is that if you do not actively engage with the professors and student body, you can be left behind, and it makes it hard for one to get letters of recommendation and internships. My other issue is the cost of attendance for out-of-state... Read More

The education I got at this University was very memorable. The courses were definitely difficult, and I wish sometimes I could go back and study harder than I did. There is a lot of voluntary employment help, but you need to be proactive in signing up for it or you might have great difficulty getting a job once you graduate.

I cannot say enough about how great UD is. I had a couple of professors who became my mentors that I still keep in touch with, 10 years after graduating. I also was able to get a job 2 months after graduating with my Bachelors degree, during the recession in 2009. I still work at the same place, and ha e advanced in my career, thanks to my background at UD. Im so thankful I went there, and highly recommend.

University of Delaware is a large institution with the ability to give students a small, community feel. The resources offered by the university to get involved will shape a student's experience while at UD. Joining clubs, sports, councils, or other groups will give you lifelong friendships and connections. The academic programs at UD have a strong reputation and a great career outlook. I really loved the University of Delaware. I had a great experience, especially with the UD Honors program. They fully funded 2 of my extra opportunities I pursued in the summer months. Living in the UD Honors Program housing was a highlight of the experience as well. While at school, I completed three internships, studied abroad, was involved in the theater club, and was a Resident Assistant. I fully took advantage of all opportunities.
