Degree: Accounting

Good for people wanting to go back for their Masters, as thy provide a lot of night classes. The Business school is what I have experienced with and the accounting teachers are not very passionate or helpful.
I wish they had more choices for professors in the accounting field. But they do have good degree programs and help connect students to jobs.

UHCL was a great school to study at. It had plenty of amenities. The professors were knowledgeable and great to study under. It was also in a great location, right next to nasa and a short drive from the city of houston, great for people who lived on the outskirts.

One of the things I appreciate about the University of Houston - Clear Lake was the size of the campus. I had originally attended a community college, so the medium size of UHCL was perfect for me. The professors that I had were passionate about their craft and always eager to help, and the student success resources came in handy for me many times during my time on campus.

They say their teacher education program is one of the best around. Looking back at my time here, I really have a hard time believing that. There was only one class required for classroom management and that was taught by a professor who believed that if we kept the kids busy, then they will have no time to misbehave. She did not teach us any other type of ways to manage behavior besides that. I did not feel prepared whatsoever by the time I got to the teaching internship. I really did not enjoy... Read More

Degree: Healthcare Administration

I graduated from University of Houston Clear Lake (UHCL) with a joint MHA//MBA degree in 2019. The UHCL MHA/MBA dual degree program delivers excellent value as well as strong ties to the Texas Medical Center (TMC) with their Health Administration program located in the heart of the TMC. UHCL has a strong network of working with local TMC healthcare organizations leading to both excellent internship opportunities as well as a robust UHCL alumni network. UHCL also offers in person, online, and hybrid... Read More

My school was nothing less than amazing! Though I went to community college first, I graduated from University of Houston - Clear Lake, and I couldn't be more proud to say that. Everyone, from administrators to professors, were the most helpful people I have ever met. If I had a chance to choose any school to spend my entire academic career at, it would be this school. I met some of my best friends here, and worked with the best professors. I couldn't recommend this school highly enough!

Degree: Healthcare Administration

Masters of Healthcare Administration program is a joke. The professors here are terrible , have no skills and are worst attitudes towards international students. For instance , for Managerial Epidemiology course all we did was play the game "Pandemic" , seriously ! each course costs around 3500 USD and they teach us nothing. If you are in international student they treat you like a money vending machine . They never try to accommodate your needs . This university ruined my life in the literal sense.... Read More

I learned so much about the world through undergrad and studied a diverse number of topics. In graduated school, I attended while working full time and helped me gain more in depth knowledge of my job.

Degree: Business Administration

The education and assistance I received at The University of Houston-Clear Lake was nothing short of stellar! My first interactions were with the Office of Admissions; I can recall meeting with the to discuss entrance requirements and their taking the time to walk me through each and every aspect of the process over the phone and scheduling time to meet with me in person. While attending UHCL, I was not only working full-time but also an expectant mother, therefore taking classes at night as I worked... Read More

UHCL is a great school with passionate teachers who genuinely care about student learning. Professors are always accessible during office hours and the campus community feels this through the low student-teacher ratio. People of all walks of life can expect to feel accepted and validated by the administration.

Degree: Curriculum & Instruction

I think the Doctoral program for curriculum and instruction is innovative, and will continue to grow. I have always thought that educators specifically can get a lot more out of a face to face program such as this due to the networking and collaboration amongst like-minded people. The flexibility of this program has allowed me to stay on track and create schedules that fit my needs. I have found that for the most part, the coursework is project-based so if you can kind of look ahead you can set yourself... Read More

I had a great experience at this school. With the small class sizes, the teachers are better equipped to provide more direct assistance to their students. The school encourages student interaction with most classes focusing on group work/projects. They offer a large selection of online classes allowing students to choose when to do their schoolwork instead of being set to a schedule.

This is a great small campus for mature students. I wish if there were more good options for evening students. The class sizes are crazy small and you get a feel of community even if you are not there much. The student center is decent and the library is huge for such a small campus.

If you are a lover of wildlife, this is THE place! You get to see a lot of these on a daily basis. University of Houston- Clear Lake is a very peaceful, nature-filled, safe campus. If you are really into social life, you won't get much of that here but if you just want a place where you can "disconnect" and concentrate on school, this is definitely where you should be.

Degree: Counseling

The counseling degree program at University of Houston-Clear Lake is great. The professors are really nice and generous and will prepare for your profession goals. It is a tenure course that requires you to take classes part-time with students who started at the same time as you.

UHCL is a great campus. The instructors are very helpful which comes in handing as the classes are rigorous. The campus is beautiful and many of the departments including financial aid and academic advising really want to see the students be successful. Overall, UHCL is a great place to go to school.

PROS Small class size: In my graduate program, class size is usually small with low amount of graduate students which gives the faculty the ability to know students names, monitor the progress of their student and also makes the student more bold enough to ask more questions as compared to a large class. Faculty accessibility: The faculty are very much accessible and treat you as if you're their child giving the student a broad room to learn and to be more open to their personal challenges as well...
