I really enjoyed my time at UNK. I appreciated the smaller school environment due to small-moderate class sizes and good, beneficial relationships with professors. The professors and all staff were kind and helpful to students. The campus was big enough to provide a variety of activities, food options, etc.

I was an online student through UNK for 2 semesters. I did not feel any sort of academic support during my time as a UNK student. Professors, advisors, and other staff all seemed cold and unhelpful. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. I had to switch back to my old college where I’m happily finishing my MA degree.

Financial aid needs to learn to communicate. I was misinformed so many times, I'm looking to finish my master's elsewhere because of financial aid! Professors were mostly good. Some were terrible about grading in a decent time. Some liked to put words in your mouth when what you wrote about was IN THE MATERIAL THEY GAVE US!!!!!!!!!!! Some also tested us on stuff that didn't matter to the class.

If you want to be a pilot, this is not the place for you. The current director does not understand the process of becoming an airline pilot. There is no way you can graduate and become an airline pilot. To become an airline pilot, you need to earn flight hours, but the current director doesn't care about that. He doesn't understand the necessary process at all. Ground school is 141 here, but flight training is 61, which is not recommended. There is no need to do any flight training here at all. This... The Master in Science program for biology students needs some serious work for their online pedagogy. For a school that offers so many online options, they need to either eliminate some professors from the pool of online teachers or give them lessons in how to run an online class. The professors are condescending and do not know how to use the online platform. They do not scaffold or structure their lectures and assessments in a way that is useful and helpful to the student. I also feel the level... Read More

The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is a great undergraduate program. The instructors are good at their jobs and actually care about their students. There are numerous opportunities for students to participate in research in any subject. All different kinds of intramural sports and student organizations. The college of science is well organized with very passionate professors. The science building is relatively new and constantly updated. There is a new computer science building being built,... UNK is an excellent school for the biological and physical sciences. My experience there was excellent, with small class sizes at the upper level classes, good instructor availability, and helpful advisors. Since my academic time spent on campus, I know major renovations have been made to most of the science buildings, which minimize my only complaint: old facilities. There are a really good selection of classes, the teachers are genuinely invested in their students, and research is supported and... Read More

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has been an amazing adventure for me to further my academic learning. I have gained so much from my fellow classmates and professors of the communication disorder department. The professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney work diligently to provide an education that accommodates to all students strengths while still challenging them. The majority of our classes are blended witch means that academic work is done both in class with the professor and online... Read More

Great school! I love that there are so many classes offered in my graduate program to choose from and most of them are very intriguing! Also, the professors do a great job teaching, especially considering I took all online classes and they care about the success of their students!

UNK is a fantastic school. My time at UNK taught me a lot about the world and helped me in my career. The education you get at this university is exceptional. Most of my classes were available online, but that doesn't mean that they are less rigorous than on-campus courses. If anything, the courses are more rigorous online, but all the extra effort is worth it because you are getting a great education.

The program is not as advertised. The Online Master's in Biology was advertised to me as a working persons degree program. There is a tremendous amount of focus on "busy work", such as discussions, that are run by students and not the professors. There was very little feedback on these discussions and one is always left wondering if the information posted was accurate since the professors did not weigh in or lead the discussions. There were several times when students posted incorrect information... Read More

An online biology program that is both vigorous and offers so many opportunities in the field is difficult to find. UNK offered me that opportunity. It's so convenient to have all my classes online. There are such a variety of electives offered that you could earn this generalist degree with a focus in so many different areas. Options for research provides even more flexibility and focus.

I began attending UNK in 2010. During the four years of my undergraduate study, my experience was incomparable. This institution is extremely welcoming. The campus has a clean, fresh feel to it. I felt very comfortable and very much a part of my program and classes at UNK. The education I received at UNK allowed me to land my dream job and it is something I am grateful for every day.
